Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Avant.
Tracy, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Winning an art contest at the age of seven set the foundation for what was to take place for the next 33 years of my life. I have continued to love it today as much as I did in the very beginning. I began by visiting Gallery’s Museum’s, art shows and attending anything that had paintings from the very beginning. All of those venues provided wonderful inspiration and still do to this day. For more about my story, you can visit my website on the Biography Page.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I paint in an Impressionist Realism style. I paint on Classen canvas in mediums like oil, acrylic, and pastel. I paint with many differences art products to achieve the look I desire. I try to evoke a message of truth that people will connect to in their own personal life.
I believe that my paintings hold the viewers’ attention and have a connection with a personal experience, thus the reason they are drawn to viewing it up close. I hope that people get the feeling of great joy and happiness from standing in front of my artwork. Anyone looking at a painting should know that it took the artist many years to hone their skills and like most of us, we are continuing to do that to try to achieve the goals that we have for ourselves.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Yes! Get out of your studio and go to Gallery’s, shows, museums and anywhere there is art related information. People love talking to artists and artist love sharing their knowledge about their product with other people. Also, grab a friend or several friends and go plein air painting that’s always a good time had by all! For you can take a picnic and just enjoy your beautiful day wherever you might be outside painting.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
People can see my artwork around the country in various galleries and museums and art shows. They can also see my work by viewing my website. People can also follow me on Facebook and Instagram. From here they will be able to see if I’m at a show or where I am painting so they can follow along with me on my journey. People can support my artwork by purchasing paintings. Secondly, people can support my artwork by donating products or supplies for the creation of my work. Thirdly people can support my travels to places to gain inspiration and to complete or at work. On Facebook now, artists are being sponsored for traveling to China, Europe, Australia & anywhere in the world to support their efforts in creating their art to share with others around the world.
