Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Brock.
Tiffany, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
It was about 7 years ago that I found my parents’ old Canon AE-1 and started (seriously) taking pictures. I learned photography by practicing with this old film camera that I loved and thought was so amazing. Then after my daughter was born I decided to invest in digital. Using my daughter as my muse, I spent hours every day taking pictures. And that’s when I really fell in love.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I take pictures of people that will hopefully transcend time and allow them to convey a little bit of their stories to future generations. Pictures that will freeze moments and ignite memories of what is was like to be there, at that time, with those people. Pictures that will allow the viewer to see and feel the love between its subjects; or simply to be reminded of how small his hands were, and how sweet her smile was. I’m always inspired by my subjects, the stories they have to tell, and how different each of their messages are.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Getting involved with other artists in your community isn’t always easy, but I’ve found fellow photographers that embody the idea of “community over competition” through local Facebook photography groups. Whether you’re looking for advice or to meet up for a shoot-out, there are likely groups in your area that can provide that!
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
