Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Ayon.

Michelle, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Building and creating things has always been one of my favorite things to do. As an Emergency Room Nurse by day, I started this business as a creative outlet to de-stress from a long/ hard day at the hospital. I have a passion for restoring old furniture and creating farmhouse decor.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My motto is: “Saving lives by day and restoring furniture by night.” I restore old furniture and turn it into farmhouse decor. I am fond of seeing old things re-purposed into new things that can be cherished forever. I also design and hand paint farmhouse signs. I turn your loved ones handwritten letters into farmhouse signs. I have always enjoyed building and painting things and making my own home decor. I fell in love with the ranch style and farmhouse decor. The rustic decor allows you to incorporate your families antiques that have been passed down. Often people do not want to get rid of them, but I think it is important to cherish these items and turn them into something you can use in your home. I love helping people bring their Pinterest finds to life. Often times we spend so much time looking on Pinterest but are to intimidated to make it. I enjoy working with clients to create these unique items for their homes.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
I define success by seeing the reactions my clients give me when they receive their piece of furniture or sign. I enjoy seeing how they use them in their homes. Many of my clients will send me pictures of the pieces displayed in their home. I will then share it with my followers. It is important for me to get feedback so I can grow as an artist.
