Art & Life with Mark Salevitz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Salevitz.

Mark, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started painting in 2001 due to my wife’s encouragement. I am a physician, a pediatric ophthalmologist. I found that when I started to plan a new project, I was able to escape many of the stresses of life.
I placed several of my works in my office (unsigned) and received positive responses.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I paint with acrylics in an impressionistic/postimpressionistic style. I have tried to capture moments in my family’s life including places we have travelled to and the many animals we have had (my wife and children have worked through the years in different animal rescues).

Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Just keep producing and only try to satisfy yourself.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Although I have been in galleries in the past (both in Phoenix and New York), I now am strictly online @ marksalevitz.com. My work is also on display in several of my offices at Phoenix Childrens Hospital.
