Art & Life with Keily Echeverri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keily Echeverri.

Keily, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’m 24 years old, I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. My passion for photography started when my parents divorced 5 years ago. It was difficult for me to cope with everything that was happening at that time. It would have been easy to just get away and do drugs and forget about my problems, instead I decided to convert my negative energy into something that would inspire and show others how I was feeling. Photography became the outlet in my life giving me the ability to express myself without words but through photos. At first photography was a bridge to channel my emotions, but as the years went by photography became more than that, it became a path and career I wanted to pursue with no doubt. I’m thankful and humbled that I’m able to show my photography to the world, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a portrait photographer who loves capturing special moments for others, making others feel beautiful, and important, I enjoy making memories last forever. I am merely a photographer I don’t do much but that one smile I can bring to a client’s face when seeing the finish product makes what I do worth it. Through the photos I take of clients I want them to be able to see the beauty they carry within themselves. My art is a reflection of the beauty each individual carry.

Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
Never lose focus on your goals, keeping them in mind even when the goals seem unreachable. There will be moments where you feel like nothing is getting done, or you’re not getting anything back from it. Don’t give up, your time will come. Just remember why you started and let your work speak for itself.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My photography can be seen through social media, Instagram: @photography

The way people are able to support me are through booking sessions, and recommending me to others, and supporting me through positive comments and ideas.
