Today we’d like to introduce you to Halen Bouhadana.

Halen Bouhadana is a young producer, songwriter, and audio engineer currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona. A BMI-credited songwriter, he specializes in a broad selection of genres and is goal-oriented into creating a powerful, unique musical product.

At age 15, Halen began exploring the world of digital recording as well as music production. His artist-whisperer abilities stem from the trust his clients’ place in him when they discover he’s one of a kind. A musician since the age of eight when he began playing guitar, Halen joined his first band at age 11. At age 19 and on, he began touring with his band and sharing the stage with acts such as Bon Jovi, Twenty One Pilots, Rachel Platten, AJR, Jon Bellion, Daya, Aaron Carter, and more. His songwriting abilities for his band enabled him to earn early success with his music career.

He studied advanced music theory throughout his late teens and eventually formally pitch-trained his ear to perfect enhancement. During this time as well, Halen began studying composition and songwriting. These skills became to vital in his growth as a musician and had eventually allowed him to become an expert on instrumental/vocal layering. A catchy hook was another crucial thing Halen found essential to songwriting and music production.

As the book Hit Makers, Thompson, 2016, reads “there is no formula” for what makes a hit, it is a “challenge-accepted” task for Halen to properly analyze and help create that hook, with necessary composition and lyrical factors, to enable hit potential.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
In January 2018, Halen opened up his own music production business called Electric Sound Music, based where he resides in Biltmore/Arcadia area. His mission was to utilize his skills and team to offer high-quality services to musicians to up and coming local artists without breaking break, allowing musicians to not feel financially limited to voicing their musical art. Those services are recording, production, mixing/mastering, visual artist branding, artist booking, and live performance enhancement. Electric Sound Music keeps the process of musical development centralized, as Halen and the team know the goal from the very beginning of musical partnerships.

Being in a band himself, Halen found it necessary to change the game today of establishing artists from all spectrums. Every musician here has something to convey in their comfortable, creative ways, Halen doesn’t want those artists to feel limited. Artists today want value for their services, as Halen always did. Today, it is time to step up and bring the best value to our artists.

Since opening Electric Sound Music, Halen has had a hand in musically enhancing artists such as Callie Young, Taylor Elyse, The Brightside, Michael Coughlin, and others. While Halen’s specialty is producing and recording music, his visual creativity and music business background enables him to work closely with his team in steering artists in the right direction in all spectrums.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
It is very important as an artist of any kind to put yourself out there! Whether it’s local shows, art galleries, etc., you are building a network and getting to know people that are in, most of the time, the same boat as you. At the same time, your presence is conveying support for the artist/music community. That in itself means a lot to performers. Collaboration is another way artists can find connection with other artists. Two brains are always better than one. With the power of electronic communication and powerful search engines, do some research and find someone who may help contribute best to your art and vice versa!
