Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Pitts of Chantel Breanne Photography.
Chantel Pitts, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’m a midwestern girl, who fell in love with the heart of Phoenix! My journey as a photographer began several years ago, when I took my first photography class with Mr. Kuepper during my junior year of high school. Ever since I was a little girl, I had always been a creative person and truly loved everything about the arts. From music and dance, to drawing and painting, even everything in between. However, it wasn’t until I picked up a Canon camera for the first time, that everything just clicked! That was the moment I realized what my true calling was, and it was in that moment my photography career began. My journey within photography definitely hasn’t been the easiest, but it has helped me grow in ways I couldn’t even imagine, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
As a photographer, I primarily focus on portraits, fashion, editorial, and wedding photography. I believe that the art of photography is so much more than just taking a picture. I believe that every photograph has a unique story to tell, and as a photographer, my goal is to not only capture special moments throughout someone’s life, but to also tell their story, and capture emotion, through imagery. When those stories all come together visually, it creates something truly extraordinary!
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
My advice to those struggling to remain focused on their craft during financial hardships, would be to find ways to keep yourself motivated, and your creative ideas flowing. Aim to look at the positive in whatever situation you’re in. Often times, we find ourselves wrapped up in the negativity surrounding our finances, that we forget why we started doing what we do in the first place, and what we truly loved about it. If you stay grounded in your purpose, and continue to push through any hardships, those financial challenges will be resolved.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Most of my work can be found on my photography website, and Instagram. I love connecting with potential clients, other creatives, and just people in general, so feel free to reach out!
