Art & Life with Briana Ravelo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Ravelo.

Briana, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My passion started many years ago at the age of 14. I started writing poetry to instrumentals, and I realized what I wanted to do. I started my own DJ business at 15 years old which gave me the opportunity to experiment with the different elements of hip-hop. Everyone knew I was a DJ so this allowed me to introduce myself as a rapper as well. I moved to Arizona in 2016 and had my first big break opening for Fetty Wap, two years later. Following my big show, I went on to open for other big names such as Bone- Thugz -N-Harmony,
E-40, and Baby Bash. It does not stop here! My plan is to continue building my brand here in Arizona through music, modeling, acting, and starting a clothing company. I am blessed. I am humble. I am AMBITION.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m in love with creating conscious hip-hop music. Poetry started it all for me. This outlet allows me to vent and express myself in ways I couldn’t do otherwise. I also play instruments such as the drums and ukulele. I hope that my fans can take away the positivity in the messages that I paint verbally. I hope listeners can feel a sense of hope, understanding, and that someone else may also walking in their shoes with them.

What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
I feel strongly towards this topic. The role of an artist has exponentially changed, especially in this day and age. I feel that we need to be making more of an effort to stand as leaders, positive influencers, and humble role models for our communities. Given all the negativity in the world, I do my best not to let it affect myself or my art. The problems of the world used to overwhelm me and discourage me from creating, but now I’m focused on what I love, my art, and counting my blessings.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I can be found on many social platforms such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Instagram, and soon Spotify. My website is currently in the works!
