Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Garia.

Bri, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I had my first Boudoir session 5 years ago, at a time, when I needed it most. I wanted to do something to make me feel good. I was at the heaviest point in my life and SO unhappy. I expected to pick myself apart like many of us ladies do. Instead, I fell in love with myself. For the first time, ever. I made it my mission to help empower women (literally all over the world) to be bold, beautiful, and themselves; to help them feel as fierce and strong, as I did, and as they are. Fast forward, I’ve spent the 2.5 years on a fitness journey, losing 130 lbs. and relating to every single client along the way.

I’ve photographed over 600 ladies and nothing makes my soul glow more than the happy tears shed on my studio sofa. It’s so much more than a boudoir session. It’s a life experience that brings SO much strength. I get to show beautiful, “everyday women” that it is THEM who are the REAL supermodels. I get to liberate them through a luxury experience and beautiful images that will forever remind them of the babe that they are. All the while, reminding myself, to never forget to practice what I preach. Self-love.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m an Intimate Boudoir Portrait Photographer, also specializing in underwater. I get to help women fall in love… with themselves. Some, for the first time ever. I own The Boudoir Dolls. I offer a luxury, affordable and down to earth experience to ladies of all walks of life. I own two studios. One, in South Scottsdale and another in Missouri (where I am from). I also do quarterly destination boudoir sessions. October is Hawaii!

I’d say what makes my Scottsdale Studio unique, is that I am located within the House for Brides. I offer in-house high-quality lingerie from the House for Brides Lingerie Boutique, included with every session. Unique session add-ons include spray tans, champagne, fresh florals, post-session licensed massages and more. The studio itself is a gorgeous “home-like” natural light studio where clients receive their images the same day! I photograph to inspire and empower. To show women that there is no such thing as beauty standards; and to convey confidence that many clients didn’t even know they had until they see their images.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
After 10 years in business total, 6 years being solely Boudoir, I’ve come to realize that success for me, is not measured with dollars. I feel most successful by the capacity of which I am able to spread my mission. Of self-love; Loving yourself, your body and the skin you are in. I keep every single text, email, message from every client expressing how much they’ve fallen in love with themselves. Many, call it a “therapy session” of its own. THAT is a success for and to me.

I feel as an artist, especially in a popular field like photography, it’s essential to success to not compare yourself to anyone else, what they’re doing or what they’re charging. Success doesn’t happen when we compare ourselves to others. But rather when we focus on doing what we love and finding ways to make ourselves unique in our trade… the dollars will follow, but first, passion.
