Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Poston.

Bethany, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born and raised here in Arizona and absolutely love this state. I graduated high school in 2014 and spent three years at one of the community colleges exploring different studies. Originally, I planned to go into biological sciences, but on a whim picked up a camera instead. I fell in love with capturing and creating art. I met my husband while I was in college and got married young, at age 20. We’ve been married for two years now and have a little baby boy.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m a Portrait Photographer. I love working with couples! Engagement sessions, formal/bridal sessions, and maternity session are my favorite sessions because these sessions often are charged with emotion. Capturing these couples joy and love is so fulfilling. My main goal is to preserve these authentic moments and, more importantly, emotions through my photographs. I work with natural light, as well, and enjoy creating bright images. I hope individuals look at my work and see real life captured and real true joy.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
I think the greatest challenge is confidence in your work. As a photographer in a WORLD full of photographers, it’s not always easy to feel content with your work. The constant need to improve is good, but sometimes it’s hard not to compare your work to someone else’s work. It’s difficult to find confidence in a competitive market, but we artists should have confidence in ourselves, our abilities, and our work.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My work is posted on my website/blog. I also have an Instagram account that I post all of my current work on. People can support my work by trusting me to capture their important moments, visiting and interacting with me on my Instagram account, and referring their friends/family to me.
