An Inspired Chat with Sara Becker of Tempe (and virtual)

We recently had the chance to connect with Sara Becker and have shared our conversation below.

Sara, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
For me, the answer is Nervous System Regulation.
And putting myself out there in a bigger, more vulnerable way—to show people that there’s another path to healing, one that doesn’t require you to push through pain, ignore your body’s signals, or settle for “managing” symptoms forever.

I used to hold back, unsure how it would be received. But now, I feel called to put it out there, because people need alternatives to pain, stress, and burnout. It’s time to trust the body’s wisdom and show others how to do the same.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m, Sara Becker, PT, DPT, the founder of Releaseology. My practice is rooted in nervous system regulation and vagus nerve stimulation to help people finally release pain, stress, and chronic tension—without relying solely on traditional therapy or medication.

Through my 1:1 virtual and in-person sessions, I guide clients in real time to reconnect with their bodies, shift out of fight-or-flight, and activate their natural healing state. I also offer a self-paced vagus nerve course and nervous system coaching that teaches simple, powerful techniques to calm the nervous system and build lasting resilience.

What makes Releaseology unique is that it goes beyond surface-level fixes. It’s about understanding the *why* behind the pain, listening to the body, and using the nervous system as the key to long-term change. I’m passionate about helping people feel safe in their bodies again—and empowered in their healing.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
It wasn’t just one moment—it was the accumulation of working with people who were told there was no hope. Stroke survivors, brain injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, car accident victims who “shouldn’t have walked away”—cases that were considered incurable or only fit for palliative care.

But I saw something different. I saw the body *respond*—sometimes in ways that defied the textbooks—when we focused on nervous system regulation and vagus nerve stimulation. Those moments reshaped everything I believed about healing. Now, I know that when we support the nervous system, true recovery becomes possible, even in the most “hopeless” situations.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the biggest revelations of my healing journey was realizing how deeply I was stuck in survival mode. Learning about nervous system regulation opened my eyes—not just professionally, but personally. I began to see how the things I was modeled and taught as a child—like people-pleasing, overachieving, perfectionism—were actually protective responses. They helped me feel safe, but they also kept me disconnected from my body and constantly on edge.

Healing came when I stopped trying to “fix” myself and started regulating my nervous system. That’s when I began to *feel* safety, rather than just chase it. And now, it’s what I help others do—come out of survival, reconnect with their body, and finally experience peace from the inside out.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads are flashy, quick fixes that often bypass the root cause. Foundational shifts create *lasting change*—they go deep, they’re repeatable, and they hold up over time. For me, nervous system regulation isn’t a trend—it’s biology.

When I see someone go from chronic pain or emotional burnout to feeling calm, clear, and functional again—not just once, but consistently—that’s how I know it’s real. Releaseology is built on those foundational shifts. It’s not about doing more; it’s about doing what *works* with your body, not against it.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I deeply understand that **the nervous system runs the show**—your pain, your stress, your energy, even your digestion and emotions. Most people think their symptoms are isolated, but they’re often rooted in a dysregulated nervous system.

Once you learn how to regulate that system—especially through vagus nerve work—healing becomes not only possible but sustainable. That’s the core of what I teach and practice through Releaseology.
