An Inspired Chat with Natalie Clark of Downtown Chandler

Natalie Clark shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Would I hire me? Absolutely—no hesitation.

I show up, I deliver, and I care—something that’s becoming way too rare these days. Great customer service shouldn’t be a surprise, but let’s be honest… it usually is. That’s why I go above and beyond every time. I take pride in my work, and I don’t stop until the job is done right. If I could clone myself, I’d hire me in a second. Someone with drive, hustle, and heart? Yes please.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
In 2014, I discovered eyelash extensions… and I was hooked. What started as curiosity quickly became passion. I dove in headfirst, soaking up every bit of knowledge I could. I found a mentor, took every class I could afford, and even competed on a global stage—earning 3rd place in an international lash competition. I was all in.

I carved out a creative space in my own home where I could experiment, grow, and perfect my artistry. Then, in 2017, the dream got even bigger—I became the proud owner of AZ Lash Lady.

I’m not a chain. I’m not a factory. I’m an independent artist who truly cares about every single client who walks through my door. My salon is nestled in the cutest boutique space in downtown Chandler, Arizona, and it’s more than just a place for lashes—it’s a space for connection.

What sets me apart?
I specialize in custom lashes that enhance your natural beauty—designed specifically for your eye shape, face shape, and lash health. I hold myself to the highest standards of cleanliness, integrity, and care. If something’s not right, I make it right. Period.

And beyond the lashes?
I love hearing client stories, catching up on life, and giving a place to unwind and feel seen. That’s what keeps me going—knowing I help my clients leave not just looking their best, but feeling their best too.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The first time I truly felt powerful was the moment I started believing in myself—and in something bigger than me.

It was like flipping a switch. I stopped second-guessing. I stopped playing small. I leaned into confidence and trusted that no matter what life throws my way, I’ve got this.

That unshakable belief—that everything is going to work out exactly how it should—is where my power comes from. And once I tapped into that? There was no turning back

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the deepest wounds in my life was the feeling of abandonment—by the very people who were supposed to love and protect me. That kind of pain leaves a mark. It shakes your sense of worth, your trust, your identity.

But healing began when I realized this: There is one who will never leave me, never turn away, and never fail to show up.

That truth anchored me. It gave me strength, stability, and peace.

I stopped chasing validation from the wrong places and started standing firm in the love that never abandons. That’s where the healing happened—and that’s where my power began.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—the version of me you see in public? That’s all me. I don’t know how to be anything but real. What you see is what you get, every time.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, the first thing I’d do is let go of every single worry. No more stressing over the little things. I’d choose peace, presence, and purpose
