An Inspired Chat with Lisa Andrews of Mesa

We recently had the chance to connect with Lisa Andrews and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Lisa, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Definitely integrity. I believe having integrity and building trust is the foundation to all meaningful relationships. Creating a trusting relationship is something that we get to show up and do everyday.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have a passion for exploring new places, meeting new people, and trying new things. My brand takes my travel experiences and inspires others with ideas and knowledge so they can confidently get out and explore the world too. My company, This Travel Tribe, includes a weekly travel podcast plus active Instagram account where I share destination highlights, practical travel tips, vacation inspiration, and itinerary ideas.

My husband Ward and I are recent empty nesters and we both believe that we will never regret saying yes a vacation. Our focus is luxury couple travel but luxury doesn’t have to mean expensive! We use some credit card points, splurge of things that are most important to us, and make time to enjoy experiences together.

My hope is to simplify travel planning so others will make plans and get to make meaningful memories in new places with their family & friends.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I was in high school, I was always drawn to French – I don’t know why! When an opportunity came in high school to travel to France with my French class, I was fortunate because my parents supported it sent me off on a big adventure. Going to France as a 16 year old opened my eyes to many of the possibilities of travel. It took away some of the mystery of logistics and transportation & gave me confidence to seek out other travel opportunities as I got older.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are going to have a big and beautiful life filled with love and special relationships. Be yourself and you and your people will find each other.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My husband and kids. Plus healthy life choices (weighted vest + protein!) My extended family. My friends. Travel. Hiking. Getting outdoors. Reading. Honesty. Having fun. Relaxing. Planning & organization.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Scrolling on social media. Seriously, it is a big time suck. I want to spend time nurturing important relationships and don’t want to be distracted.
