An Inspired Chat with Lacey Konjevich of Tempe

We recently had the chance to connect with Lacey Konjevich and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Lacey, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I always start my day by walking my poodle Charli… after that I love a good cup of hot coffee and if I’m really feeling frisky a quick Pilates session!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Lacey, the creative mind behind Pottery By Pony. I am a passionate potter and artist who brings joy and whimsy to the world of handmade ceramics. With skillful hand-building and wheel thrown techniques, I craft unique vessels that embody a playful and fun aesthetic. My boho-inspired decorative pieces captivate art enthusiasts from all around. Each creation reflects my dedication to creating distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces that add charm and character to any space. I invite you to embrace the beauty of handcrafted pottery and infuse your surroundings with a touch of enchantment.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Both of my parents instilled in me a strong desire to work hard and be proud of what I produce. Being an entrepreneur takes heart, vision, dedication and endurance. It’s a long and winding road but with it comes freedom and so much satisfaction!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Sure. I’m definitely my toughest critic… I like to try new things but not at the expense of my inner happiness. I’ve learned to set reasonable expectations for myself so that I don’t burn out. Perfection is an illusion. Where there is joy there is art and a piece of art doesn’t have to be perfect to be loved by someone.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Who you are on the inside. Being kind, having a generous spirit, opening up your home to others and showing love at all times. It’s the secret person of the heart that will always get you where you want to be.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop sweating the small stuff. Be present, enjoy every moment. Volunteer more in the community, spend time with others doing the things I love and creating lasting memories that will transcend any time or trial.
