An Inspired Chat with Adolpho Navarro of Phoenix

We recently had the chance to connect with Adolpho Navarro and have shared our conversation below.

Adolpho, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes. As a 25-year independent filmmaker, I’m a passionate creative with range of skillets not only in the film community but also in marketing and public relations. I try to stay on top of technological advances so that my passion continues to evolve with the industry but also enjoy learning from others. Having transferrable skills and having an open mindset for change creates so many opportunities to change the world. I care deeply for any project and person I interact with which creates a loyal bond between collaborators.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Adolpho Navarro is a lifelong storyteller whose passion for filmmaking began at the age of nine and has grown into a career spanning more than 20 years. As the founder of N’Raged Media, he has written, directed, edited, and produced independent films that have earned over 60 awards in competitions and challenges worldwide. His work spans genres including horror, comedy, action, and Westerns, reflecting his belief that versatility fuels creativity and keeps storytelling fresh.

Along with creating films, Adolpho brings his transferable skills into the marketing and public relations industry, producing impactful content that blends visual storytelling with strategic communication. He has served as a panelist for numerous discussions on filmmaking and graphic design for marketing, and as a judge for many contests throughout the Valley. He also creates behind-the-scenes videos for almost every project he works on for his YouTube channel, inspiring others to create and elevate their own content while proving that powerful stories can be told with little to no budget, relying on creativity above all. Whether producing social media campaigns, short films, or behind-the-scenes features, he is driven by a desire not only to entertain but to motivate others to pursue their own creative passions.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My father because he always saw a storyteller in me and always let me go crazy making movies as a child. He was also instrumental in helping me expand my abilities by investing in equipment that assisted me in telling those stories. He saw my potential and supported me in every way you can as a father and fellow creative.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost gave up on continuing to do what I was passionate about. When my father passed away, I had the choice to crumble in grief or do what I felt would make him proud. I knew he wanted me to go on and do impactful things with my gift of unique storytelling.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire film directors such as Steven Spielberg and Robert Rodriquez because they proved themselves through their work. They pushed the envelope and no matter the challenges or nay sayers, they told stories not many people wanted to tell or maybe didn’t know how and excelled in them and created a path for others to follow.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do. Finding the balance between passion and making a living is always a challenge but is always possible with hard work.
