We’re looking forward to introducing you to ALBERTO ESTRADA. Check out our conversation below.
Hi ALBERTO , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I feel like a lot of people think they’re going to walk out of here looking weird or deformed, and it’s actually the complete opposite. Aesthetic medicine today is all about making people look refreshed—so that others see you and go, “Wow! What did they do to their face? They look amazing.”
People also assume everything is painful, but honestly, most of the treatments I do don’t hurt at all. What I mainly focus on is skin prevention and rejuvenation—especially when someone hasn’t taken good care of their skin—but always with an aesthetic, harmonious approach.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dr. Alberto Estrada, I’m an aesthetic physician, and I run my clinic, BESEM, located in Nogales, Sonora. Our clinic specializes in facial and body harmonization. What sets us apart from other practices is our collaborative approach — I work closely with a nutritionist to support healthy eating habits, a physical therapist for lymphatic drainage (especially after surgery), and a licensed cosmetologist who handles facials, massages, and more.
We also work in collaboration with dentists to address conditions like bruxism or gummy smiles, ensuring a comprehensive and functional approach to facial aesthetics.
We truly believe we’re the best option for our patients because of the high level of professionalism, the top-tier equipment we use, and the fact that everything we do is certified and meets the highest quality standards.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Without a doubt, the relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my son. Becoming a parent changed everything—it gave my life a deeper sense of purpose and helped me discover strengths I didn’t even know I had. Through him, I’ve learned patience, resilience, and unconditional love.
He reflects back to me not just who I am, but who I strive to be. Every decision I make, personally and professionally, is grounded in the desire to be someone he can be proud of. He’s my biggest motivation, and through his eyes, I’ve come to see myself with more compassion and clarity than ever before.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes, I do—and I’m lucky enough to say it happens every day. I have the incredible fortune of sharing my life with a woman who truly listens to me. She’s not only my partner in life, but also the mother of my children, my friend, my confidant, and now, my fiancée.
With her, I’ve always felt heard—not just my words, but my silences, my worries, my dreams. Her presence reminds me that being listened to isn’t just about someone hearing you—it’s about someone understanding you, holding space for you, and walking beside you, no matter what. I’ll always be grateful for that.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One belief—and project—I’m fully committed to, no matter how long it takes, is becoming one of the leading figures in aesthetic medicine in Nogales, Sonora, and making my clinic, BESEM, recognized both in Mexico and the United States.
I know that building trust, recognition, and a solid reputation takes time. It’s not just about people knowing who you are—it’s about them truly recognizing the quality of your work and, most importantly, feeling confident in placing their care in your hands. But every single day, every patient, every detail we improve brings us one step closer to that goal. And I’m here for the long run.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I was someone who was always there for his family. That I worked hard, not because money was my motivation, but because I believed in doing things with purpose, with heart, and with integrity.
I hope they say I was a good doctor—honest, honorable, and deeply committed to my patients and my work. That I treated people with respect, and always tried to make others feel seen and valued.
At the end of the day, we all want to be remembered kindly, with good words and warm memories. I truly hope to be that kind of person—and that the way I see myself is something I’ve been able to reflect in the lives of others.
