Andrea, for readers who are just getting to know your clinic, how would you describe the overall experience you aim to create for both pets and their owners from the moment they walk through the door?
From the moment a client walks in, our goal is to create an experience that feels calm, personal, and genuinely supportive. Veterinary visits can be stressful for both pets and their owners, so we’ve designed our clinic to feel welcoming rather than clinical. We greet every patient by name, move at a pace that respects the animal’s comfort level, and communicate clearly with owners so they feel informed and involved. I want clients to feel that their pet is seen as an individual and never as “just another appointment.” We also want clients to feel that the care we provide is thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate from start to finish.
Your practice is Fear Free certified and especially cat-focused — how does that philosophy show up before, during, and after a visit, particularly for anxious pets or cat owners?
Our Fear Free and cat-focused approach shapes every step of the visit. Before a patient even arrives, we offer pre-visit guidance including things like carrier tips, pheromone recommendations, or medication options to set anxious pets up for success. Once they’re here, we use species-specific exam rooms, soft handling techniques, calming music, and plenty of time so pets don’t feel rushed or overwhelmed.
For cats and nervous dogs, we often modify the environment, dim lights, use warm towels or hides, or perform exams right where the pet is most comfortable, even on the owner’s lap. After the visit, we follow up with detailed care instructions and check-ins, because reducing stress doesn’t end at the clinic door. The goal is to create an experience where pets feel safe, owners feel supported, and future visits get easier every time.
You offer an impressively wide range of services, from preventative care to advanced diagnostics and surgery. How does having so much in-house change the way you care for patients and support clients?
Having everything from digital imaging and laboratory diagnostics to dentistry and surgery available in-house allows us to be more efficient, precise, and proactive with patient care. Clients don’t have to visit multiple facilities or wait weeks for answers. We can diagnose and treat quickly, often in the same visit.
It also gives us continuity: the same team evaluating the pet is the same team interpreting the results, developing the treatment plan, and performing any needed procedures. That consistency helps us catch subtle changes early, communicate clearly with owners, and deliver care that feels seamless rather than fragmented.
You’ve built a boutique-style, privately owned clinic with a close-knit team. Why is consistency of staff and relationship-building such an important part of your approach?
In a boutique, privately owned practice, relationships are truly the foundation of the medicine we practice. When clients see the same faces at each visit, it builds trust, and that trust directly improves patient outcomes. Pets are more relaxed with familiar people, owners feel more comfortable asking questions, and our team can spot changes in behavior or health that might be missed in a high-turnover environment.
Our tight-knit staff communicates constantly, supports one another, and approaches every case as a team. That consistency creates a more personalized experience for clients and a more stable, nurturing environment for pets.
With new client promotions and a strong emphasis on value rather than volume, what should potential clients know about what sets your clinic apart from others in the area?
We focus on value in the truest sense: high-quality medicine, individualized attention, and time spent listening. Our new client promotions are designed to introduce people to the level of care we provide, not to drive volume, but to start long-term relationships.
What sets us apart is the combination of a boutique atmosphere, advanced medical capabilities, and a philosophy centered on low-stress, personalized care. We organize our schedule in a way ensuring we can spend the necessary time with each patient. We tailor recommendations rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. And as a privately owned clinic, we make decisions based solely on what is best for the animals, not on production targets.
Clients who come to us value quality, communication, and a team that truly knows their pet, and that’s exactly what we deliver.
