Meet Scott Jeffers of Traveler in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Jeffers.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Scott. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for deeply rooted music. I started traveler in 2000 with the concept of fusing different styles of world music. Since then, traveler has produced 15 CDs and has toured throughout the U.S., Canada, Turkey, and England.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been quite a rocky road up and down which is not uncommon in the music business. But there have been times when there are many opportunities and other times it’s more of a struggle. When you’re working in a genre of music that is not mainstream, it takes some work to find your audience. But they’re out there.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Traveler story. Tell us more about the business.
Traveler is a world Fusion band. We specialize in fusing different styles of ethnic music. Most of the compositions were written during journeys through exotic lands.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Luckily, for me, ethnic music doesn’t really ever go out of style because it never really goes in style. It has a very specific audience and it has slowly been growing over the last 18 years and I hope to see it continue to grow at a faster pace and I hope to continue traveling and composing music that is unique, as well as performing at festivals throughout the world and bring this music to as many people as possible.
