Hi Jose, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Drawing influence from Drumcode, Codex, and Mau5trap,
J.LUPE is carving out his own lane in Peak-Time Techno.
He’s shared stages with artists like Green Velvet, Layton
Giordani, and CamelPhat, Sparteque and recently hit a
major milestone with a release on Berlin Records. Through
his label HiveTek Records, he’s building toward an international
presence—delivering high-energy, inclusive sets driven by
movement, passion, and pure escapism. 15 years in the making and no signs of slowing down!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obstacles that I’ve come across in my dj career have gauged from having equipment malfunction mid set, to full show cancelations. These are things that our out of my control so I always try and stay in a positive mindset and take note of how to troubleshoot the issue so if it were to ever happen again, I’ll be prepared to handle the situation. I’ve already had to troubleshoot for a huge act in San Diego so my skills have already been put to the test!

Aside from music, I am a production director at a comedy club in downtown Chandler. I specialize in Audio and Video production as well as mixing and mastering providing a solid foundation for my record label Hivetek Records to have a professional sound. Starting GFX as a teen I have over 15 years of experience and I think that’s what sets me apart. I’ve been able to work on many platforms and understand the schematics of websites like YouTube, Album covers, Blender video intros so I can add the visual aspect to my project with ease and now that I have a solid direction with my music production I can blend both aspects seamlessly
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a huge gaming nerd. I used to be in competitive Call of duty player and always take any game into a competitive realm. current game I’m on is Overwatch 2.
