Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Hopp.
Hi Katie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started to take an interest in photography at a young age. Starting with disposable cameras and one of my favorite gifts, a poloroid. To capture a moment in time was so magical to me as a kid and as I grew old and learned how to manipulate lighting and subjects I really grew interested in the art of photography. Ever since high school I knew I wanted to take photography seriously and I fell in love with everything about it even when it felt hard to accomplish my goals in mind for a certain image. I really learned through college and on my own what my style is and what I love to capture but I love to still learn new things to this day and I know that this art form will always teach me knew and exciting ways to view the world:
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing about learning a new skill is smooth. It’s taken years to get where I am today, but I love the hardship and the struggle because it takes me to another level with my art and skill set.

I am a photographer and videographer that specializes in portraits and brands. I’m known for punchy colors and unique concepts. I love finding a location that no one knows about and creating an idea out of that atmosphere or aesthetic. I like a challenge and to find my own perspective within a concept.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
They might not know that I am an introverted person. My job requires to talk to strangers, pitch ideas to new people and photography allows me to have the confidence to have these conversations because I believe in others work/business as well as what I know I can deliver for them.
