Hi Carlos, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I opened Natural Results Plastic Surgery on February 17, 2017 — a few weeks after my wife delivered our first son, Jordan. So the practice and my family literally grew up together. It was me and four employees, a lot of conviction, and one idea I refused to compromise on: results so natural that people can’t tell you had anything done. They just know you look like the best version of yourself. That’s where the name came from, and it’s still the filter for every decision we make.
The timing was either crazy or perfect, depending on the day. A brand-new baby and a brand-new business will teach you very quickly what you’re made of. But becoming a father in the same season I became a the owner that shaped the kind of practice I wanted to build — one where patients are treated like people we’re going to know for twenty years, not procedures on a schedule.
The other bet I made early was social media. I started building @drscottsdale in 2016, before most surgeons took Instagram seriously, and I committed to showing people the real thing — real results, real education, real conversations about what natural actually looks like. That transparency built trust faster than any advertisement ever could, and it grew into a community of over a million followers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat. We hit seven figures in our first year, and we’ve grown every year since.
Today, I’ve performed more than 25,000 cosmetic procedures, developed three trademarked signature procedures — the Scottsdale Skinny®, the Gladiator®, and the Magic Shot® — and I’m humbled to have been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor every year since 2018 and one of Newsweek’s best plastic surgeons three years running. But the evolution I’m most proud of is that we’ve grown beyond surgery. Looking your best and feeling your best are the same mission, so we now help patients with longevity and wellness — hormone optimization, peptides, vitality — so the confidence they see in the mirror matches the way they feel living their lives.
And we’re just getting started. We’re building a brand-new, ground-up surgical facility on Scottsdale Road, and I’m assembling a team of leaders — and eventually surgeons — to take this vision further than one pair of hands can carry it. At home, my wife and I now have four children, including our teenage daughter Angela, whom we adopted, and our newest son, who arrived this summer. Nine years ago it was four employees and a newborn. The mission hasn’t changed since day one: inspiring people to become their own kind of beautiful.

Natural Results Plastic Surgery is a full-service aesthetic and wellness practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. The name is the promise. We’re building a brand-new, ground-up surgical facility with a certified operating room on Scottsdale Road, minutes from our current office — the foundation for the next chapter of this brand. Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
More than you can imagine — and the greatest luck of my life has nothing to do with business at all.
I have been blessed beyond measure with my family. My wife delivered our first son, Jordan, just weeks before I opened the doors of Natural Results Plastic Surgery, so from day one, the practice and my family have grown side by side. Every risk I’ve taken as a founder — leaving the security of an established path, betting on social media before anyone else in my field, building a new surgical facility from the ground up — I could take because I go home every night to people who believe in me. That’s not something you earn on a résumé. That’s fortune, plain and simple.
I say this without exaggeration: without that luck, our business is not what it is today. A supportive spouse is the silent co-founder of every successful practice. My children — Jordan, Jayden, our daughter Angela, whom we were lucky enough to welcome through adoption, and our newest son — remind me daily why the work matters and who I’m building all of this for. They keep me grounded when the brand grows loud, and they keep me hungry when the days get long.
Has there been bad luck along the way? Of course — every entrepreneur meets setbacks, and medicine humbles you regularly. But I’ve learned that luck is rarely the whole story. The old saying is true: luck favors the prepared. The good fortune of my family gave me the foundation; the discipline to show up every single day for nearly a decade is what built the rest. So when people ask what role luck has played, I tell them: I was lucky in the thing that matters most. Everything else, we worked for — together.
