Hidden Gems: Meet Georgiana Salagean of Sunny Days Senior Living LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgiana Salagean.

Hi Georgiana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I came to the United States from Romania at 19 years old and built my life here from the ground up. Over the years, I developed a passion for caring for seniors and eventually turned that passion into my own assisted living business. Today, I am the owner and operator of Sunny Days Senior Living in Mesa, Arizona, where I’m also a licensed Assisted Living Manager and Certified Caregiver.
Building my business has taken a lot of hard work, persistence, and learning along the way. I’m very hands-on and have always believed that senior care should feel personal, warm, and like home not simply like a business. I’m proud of what I’ve built and especially proud of the relationships I’ve developed with my residents and their families. My journey has taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of creating something that genuinely makes a difference in people’s lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. it has been anything but a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up comes with sacrifices, long hours, financial uncertainty, staffing challenges, and a tremendous amount of responsibility. In senior care especially, you’re not just running a business; families are trusting you with someone they love, and I take that responsibility very personally.
There have also been seasons in my personal life that were incredibly difficult while I still had to show up every day for my residents, my family, and my business. Those experiences have strengthened me and deepened my faith. I’ve learned that I can’t control every challenge, but I can control how I respond to it.

Through it all, I’ve kept God at the forefront. There were times when I didn’t know how something would work out, but I kept moving forward in faith. Looking back, some of the hardest seasons shaped me the most and made me a stronger leader, caregiver, business owner, and person.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the owner and operator of Sunny Days Senior Living, a small assisted living home dedicated to providing seniors with personalized, compassionate care in a true home-like environment. My work is much more than running a business it is about creating a place where residents feel safe, respected, loved, and treated like family.
As an immigrant and a woman who built her life and business through hard work, perseverance, and faith, I am incredibly proud of what Sunny Days has become. I am involved in every aspect of the home, from overseeing care and staff to building relationships with residents and their families.
My greatest professional accomplishment is creating something that not only supports my family, but also makes a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and their families every day.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe the best mentorship often develops naturally through genuine relationships. I’ve learned to surround myself with people who have experience, integrity, and values I respect, and I’m never afraid to ask questions or learn from others. Networking, for me, has been less about collecting contacts and more about building meaningful relationships and being willing to help others as well.
