Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylour Rohme.
Taylour, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Old School Tap started from a place that felt really natural to me. I’ve always had a love for vintage cars and bartending, and at some point it just clicked that I could combine the two into something unique. At the same time, I wanted more freedom in my life as a mom of two boys. I wanted to build something that allowed me to be present for them while also creating something I was proud of.
What began with one truck, Chuck, our 1955 Ford and it quickly turned into something much bigger than I imagined. I realized early on that this wasn’t just about serving drinks; it was about creating an experience people remember. From weddings to backyard parties, every event became an opportunity to design something thoughtful and customized for each client.
As the business grew, so did the vision. We added Kelso, our 1973 VW bus, which brought even more personality and versatility to what we offer. Along the way, I’ve been balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, learning how to show up fully for both. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding.
Today, Old School Tap is more than just a mobile bartending service, it’s a reflection of who I am: creative, intentional, and rooted in connection. Every setup, every detail, and every pour is done with purpose, and I’m excited to keep growing and seeing where it all leads.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most small businesses, there have been a lot of learning curves along the way, especially in the beginning. Building something from the ground up means figuring things out in real time, from logistics and bookings to pricing, marketing, and everything in between.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing entrepreneurship with being a present mom to my two boys. There are long days, late nights, and moments where everything overlaps, and learning how to manage that without losing sight of why I started has been a process.
There have also been growing pains in expanding the business: adding a second truck, scaling operations, and making sure every event still feels intentional and high quality as we grow. It’s easy to get caught up in doing more, but I’ve had to stay grounded in doing things well.
That said, every challenge has helped shape the business into what it is today. It’s taught me how to adapt, trust myself, and build something that’s not just successful, but meaningful and sustainable.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Old School Tap, we create a mobile bartending experience centered around our vintage tap trucks: Chuck, our 1955 Ford, and Kelso, our 1973 VW bus. We specialize in fully customized bar setups for weddings, private parties, and events, tailoring everything from the drink menu to the overall aesthetic so each experience feels unique.
We’re known for creating more than just a bar, we create a moment. The trucks naturally become a focal point, and we build around that with thoughtful details and intentional design. We also offer everything from craft cocktails to mocktails, making our services versatile for any event.
What I’m most proud of is that this business truly reflects who I am. Every detail has been built with purpose.
What sets us apart is the level of customization and care we bring to every event. It’s not one-size-fits-all, there’s real intention behind everything we do, and people can feel that.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories are from camping with my family. I will always love those simple moments of being outside, disconnected from everything, and just enjoying time together.
