Check Out Lexi Goodwin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Goodwin.

Hi Lexi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Lex Esthetix during one of the most demanding seasons of my life. My son was three years old at the time and has complex medical needs. Over the years, he has undergone 13 surgeries and averages over 100 appointments a year. I knew I needed a career that allowed me to fully show up for him — not just for the hospital days and appointments, but also for the sweet moments like field trips, class parties, and “Donuts with Mom.”

What began as a side business built around flexibility quickly became something much bigger. I entered the beauty industry because it allowed me to work around his schedule, but I fell in love with the artistry and the confidence transformation that happens in the chair. Brows may seem small, but the impact they have on how someone feels walking out the door is powerful.

As my business grew, I realized talent alone isn’t enough to build something sustainable. I was completely self-taught on the business side — navigating LLCs, pricing strategy, booking systems, policies, branding, and client experience through trial, error, and a lot of late nights. That journey is what shaped the foundation of Lex Esthetix. I didn’t just want to be good at brows; I wanted to build a structured, professional, luxury brand here in Phoenix that could grow long term.

Today, Lex Esthetix represents both flexibility and excellence. It gave me the freedom to be present for my son’s journey while building something I’m deeply passionate about. It has also evolved into education and mentorship, where I help other beauty professionals who feel overwhelmed on the business side gain clarity, structure, and confidence. I know what it feels like to figure it out alone — and now I get to be the person in someone else’s corner, showing them the roadmap I once had to create for myself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but those seasons are what shaped Lex Esthetix into what it is today.

In the beginning, I was balancing motherhood, a complex medical schedule, and building a business from the ground up. There were days I would leave an appointment and head straight to a client, running on very little sleep and pure determination. The exhaustion and burnout were very real in those early years. Juggling both worlds wasn’t always graceful but it forced me to become disciplined, organized, and intentional with my time.

On the business side, I was completely self-taught. I had to learn legal setup, pricing strategy, branding, booking systems, policies, and client communication through trial and error. I underpriced in the beginning. I said yes too often. I learned hard lessons about boundaries and sustainability. But every mistake became refinement.

One of the biggest turning points was realizing that in a saturated Phoenix beauty market, skill alone wasn’t enough to stand out. I made a conscious decision to elevate the client experience — to build a luxury, structured, high-touch service that felt intentional from booking to aftercare. That shift changed everything. I stopped trying to compete on price and started competing on experience.

There was also a mindset shift required, stepping into the role of CEO instead of just a service provider. That transition meant building systems, raising standards, and trusting my value.

Looking back, the struggles didn’t break the business — they built the backbone of it. They’re also the reason I’m so passionate about mentoring other beauty professionals now. I know what it feels like to be exhausted, overwhelmed, and figuring it out alone. If I can help someone build structure faster and avoid burnout while still creating freedom in their life, that’s a full-circle moment for me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Lex Esthetix, I specialize in advanced brow artistry, including ombré powder brows, brow laminations, precision shaping, and customized tinting services. My focus has always been creating results that enhance my clients’ natural features while simplifying their daily routines. I’m known for clean, symmetrical work and for delivering results that feel polished but still soft and wearable.

Beyond the technical side, I’m also known for the experience. From consultation to aftercare, every detail is intentional. I’ve built my brand around structure, luxury, and professionalism — clients know they’re walking into an environment that feels elevated, calm, and thoughtfully curated.

What sets me apart is that I approach brows with both an artist’s eye and a CEO mindset. I’m deeply committed to skill refinement, but I’m equally passionate about systems, policies, and client education. That combination has allowed me to build not just beautiful results, but a sustainable business model.

I’m incredibly proud of the dual impact my work has created. On one side, I get to help women walk out of my studio feeling confident, refreshed, and seen, sometimes with something as simple, yet transformative, as a perfectly shaped brow. On the other side, through education and mentorship, I help beauty professionals build businesses that support their lives instead of overwhelming them. Whether it’s confidence in the mirror or confidence in running a business, that empowerment is what drives everything I do.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
While I value continued education and growth, the greatest support system in my life isn’t found in an app or a podcast — it’s my family.

My son is the reason Lex Esthetix exists, and he continues to be my daily motivation. His resilience has shaped the way I approach both life and business. Beyond that, I’m incredibly grateful for the support system around me. I have a partner who stands beside me, pushes me toward excellence, and supports every vision I pursue. Having that kind of steady encouragement allows me to operate at a higher level, both personally and professionally.

At the end of the day, my best ideas, clarity, and drive come from being grounded at home. When your foundation is strong, everything else has room to grow.
