Gustavo De Angeles of Phoenix/ Scottsdale on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Gustavo De Angeles shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Gustavo , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I spend my first 90 minutes of my day thanking God for a new day,, drinking coffee, journaling, replying to emails, and looking at my agenda to see what I have scheduled for my day

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Gustavo Angeles’ music style is a fusion of Latin Rock, Flamenco, Blues, and Classic Rock, showcasing His versatility as a guitarist, singer, composer, producer, and songwriter.
With a background that allows Him to travel and incorporate diverse musical influences, Gustavo has performed in various countries such as Cuba, Sweden, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and all over the United States.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I was very fortunate to grow up around music. My older brothers Eduardo and Emilio were already established musicians, I learned Blues Harmonica and guitar from Eduardo first, He used to take me to his gigs, a few years later my brother Emilio taught me the fundamentals of rock guitar

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Definitely the dead of my brother Eduardo when I was still very young. I looked up to him, He was my role model, my influence in music and in life. He was a great artist, not only did he play music, but he was a consummate sculptor and a painter, a jewelry maker, etc.
His death when I was 18 did leave a painful scar that I still deal with until this day.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire people that keep their word, people that have integrity., people that treat others with respect, no matter social status, origins, or color

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m building the life that I want for my future, for my son and people that will be by my side.
I’m really happy that my 15 year old son has already the passion for instruments and music, something I instilled in Him since He was only 5 years old. He plays piano, guitar, Cuban lute and accordion besides singing.
I’m also into real state investing and making important decisions for the future
