Story & Lesson Highlights with Paloma Hassell-Curiel of Goodyear

We recently had the chance to connect with Paloma Hassell-Curiel and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Paloma, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now starts with my full-time role as a registered nurse. I work in outpatient surgery as a circulator in the operating room, Monday through Friday, and my hours can vary depending on the schedule.

Outside of work, I’m a wife and a dog mom, so a lot of my time is centered around my family and our two dogs.

I also run a side business where I’m partnered with a Japanese company that’s been around for over 50 years. They make a medical-grade water ionizer that creates water rich in molecular hydrogen, which is highly anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It also generates different pH waters for various uses throughout the home. So I help educate people about the product and the affiliate opportunity the company offers as well.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Paloma, and I’m someone who’s always been drawn to wellness, adventure, and creating a life with meaning. I grew up on a small island in the Caribbean, which really shaped my love for nature and simplicity. That perspective has carried with me into adulthood, whether it’s hiking with my dogs, traveling, or finding healthier, more natural ways to live.

A big part of my journey has been stepping into entrepreneurship. I partner with a Japanese company that’s been a leader in water technology for over 50 years. They produce a medical-grade water ionizer that creates hydrogen-rich, antioxidant water, along with several functional waters at different pH levels that can be used throughout the home.

What makes this unique for me is that it blends science, wellness, and lifestyle in a way that actually supports the kind of life I want to live- healthier, more intentional, and with more freedom. I’m currently focused on educating others, building community, and helping people discover tools that elevate their everyday life.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that really shaped how I see the world was during Covid, but in a very different way from most nurses. Because I work in outpatient surgery, so much of what we do is elective and overnight, everything stopped. I went from having full, steady weeks to barely working at all.

That shift opened my eyes to how quickly life can change, even when you think everything is stable. It made me realize how fragile our routines are, how fast security can disappear, and how important it is to build a life that gives you flexibility, purpose, and options.

At the same time, watching what was happening around the world showed me how precious time, health, and connection really are. It made me more intentional about how I live, who I spend my energy on, and the kind of life I want to create for myself and my family.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self not to be afraid to go after the life she truly wants even if others don’t understand it, support it, or agree with it. Your dreams don’t need permission, and you don’t have to shrink yourself to fit anyone else’s expectations. Trust yourself more. You’re stronger and more capable than you realize.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think a lot of smart people get it wrong by assuming there’s only one “right” or traditional path to success. They dismiss anything unconventional like entrepreneurship or network marketing without really understanding it. They stick to what’s familiar or “safe,” even when it doesn’t make them happy. Sometimes the opportunities that look different from the outside are the ones that actually give you the most freedom.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in nature- surrounded by mountains or by the ocean. That’s where I feel the most grounded.
