Good morning tapaul, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
All of these are very important, but if I had to choose, I would say integrity, because when your integrity is In check, your energy is directed with intelligence.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello world! I am Tapaul or “Mr.TP” of Bonified Productions, a music workshop located in South Phoenix. I specialize in composing production tracks and recording, mixing vocals for streaming platforms or live performances.

Music is a passion and I enjoy the art of sound and the process of creation. Making music came early, as my mother was a singer when I was about 4-5. I would listen to her studio tapes and learn to play chords to her songs on her casio. Pops, had tons of albums, so music was always playing.

I rapped in high school, and eventually started producing for other local artists, and in 2000 Bonified Productions was born. Since then, I’ve produced and engineered projects for various indie artist nationwide.

Currently we are focused on providing top notch audio production services to artists ready to express their talents through music. I provide a comfortable home based set up, with 2 separate recording rooms, production tracks, software plug-ins, 3 mic options, to bring your sound to life.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
It is my belief that words and bad actions break bonds between people. With that being said, thoughtful words and acts of kindness can restore bonds.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was a time in my past when I almost gave up music.

I had a small recording studio in Decatur, GA in 01′ and met with a group that needed production. The group consisted of 3 female R&B vocalist, and a manager. I was connected to this group by another artist and we began working on songs immediately. I co wrote songs, made tracks and recorded vocals, but my skills then were just beginning. The manager would bring the girls by the studio for late night sessions, until it was show time. The group performed the songs we had recorded and got picked up by a label.

At the time, I was barely starting in the ATL and didn’t understand that loyalty is not always guaranteed, and money talks. I had a show scheduled with over 1k tickets purchased and the day of the show, the manager calls and says the girls can’t make the show because they have to study for an exam. I knew it was bs, but didn’t want to argue. I was about ready to throw in the towel. I knew they had gotten a deal elsewhere.

One thing I learned is that one monkey don’t stop no show, and the party must go on. If you are passionate about your purpose, you will preserver through all problems in pursuit of your peace.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closet friends would say that it really matters to me that I express myself through art by sharing my music with the world.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am free to do what I want to do, how I want to do it, for as long as Id like to do it, without judgement.
