An Inspired Chat with Hailey Benson of Mesa

Hailey Benson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hailey, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My family… as cheesy or obvious that may seem, it’s as true as it gets. My family is my source of joy next to the Lord. I am beyond grateful for my kids and my husband. They are so fun to be around and always make me laugh and can snap me out of a brain fog. Kids are seriously the best!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Hailey Benson and I am a mom of soon to be 5 under 5!!!! I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with our 5th babe. I have all boys ranging from 5-2.5. I do have a set of twins in that mix as well. I am married to the best man around, Bladen. He is a falconer and the widely known bird man. Our family has 5 hawks, 2 tortoises, 10 chickens, 1 great pyrenees and a Belgian Malinois. Having a billion kids and animals allows me to understand what it’s like to capture sessions with chaos: kids, animals, etc. AND I LOVE IT! I love capturing people and families in their natural elements and doing what they love with who they love!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My husband Bladen has been the best influence and inspiration with work. He runs his own business and is constantly working harder to be better, to do better for hawks and people alike. He is always encouraging to me despite any crazy ideas, he pours confidence into others and is such a relief to have around for many.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I was an avid dancer when I was growing up, from like 3 years old all the way to college age until having kids and pivoting my focus and cares. I do miss dancing because it was so freeing and it was so much exercise without even feeling like it LOL. I definitely love create with photos but my love for dance will probably never disappear.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I am truly a raw individual. I like to be honest as myself and not keep different versions of me for different scenarios. I love to just be myself!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My legacy. My beautiful family, and absolutely amazing kids. They impress me every single day!! I have found a love that not even words can describe. God has blessed me beyond measure with a truly amazing and loving husband and in turn allowed us to have soon to be 5 beautiful babies. What is more beautiful than that? No possession could ever replace.
