Melissa ( Missi) , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day is the best. Coffee, calm and playtime with the dog. I like to start my day slow and easy so that my body, mind and heart are prepared for the day ahead.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an organizer of chaos. LOL. I am the owner of With A Twist Consulting. We are a full service event planning, consulting and marketing company. We specialize in non-profit events but also everything from a 2 person get together, a wedding up to a 10,000+ person concert. We can handle it all from beginning to end and everything in between. We also do consulting on events – help you find venues, help negotiate contracts , find music, choose food and so much more.

We are currently working on 4 fabulous events in Arizona. Mammals in the Moonlight benefiting Liberty Wildlife. Sit,Stay,Brunch benefiting Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, Glimmer of Hope benefiting PACC911- Phoenix Animal Care Coalition and On The Green Sports Grill Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Rebuilding Together-Arizona.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Mom. She always saw my potential, value and strength – way before I did.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I have felt like giving up several times. Owning a business isn’t for the faint of heart. It is a 24/7 job. It is your reputation.
The “covid-shutdown’ affected what we do in a major way. We had to shift everything we did. We learned how to zoom and have hybrid events and how to relaunch in person events with all the stipulations. We came very close to closing.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
My Team. I have a great TEAM. They come up with great ideas and ways of doing things that I may never of thought of.
They are the backbone to the company and some of the great things that have happened.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they talk about our travels, our laughter , my love for animals and protecting them. My genuine heart that truly cared for their well being.
