I started my career with just 96 cents to my name and a determination to change my life. I worked long hours, took every client I could, and poured my heart into my craft. Along the way, I fell in love with my boss, who shared my passion for the beauty industry. After decades behind the chair, he stepped away and entrusted me to run the salon. Today, I lead Awsum Salon with the same grit, heart, and hustle that got me here, creating a space where confidence is built, friendships are formed, and people leave feeling their very best. My journey is proof that no matter where you start, hard work and heart can create something truly beautiful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Between COVID shutting us down, being pregnant three years in a row, and the economy taking a toll on the beauty industry, there were plenty of challenges. But giving up was never an option. I chose to trust God through it all, believing that this path was exactly where I was meant to be. That same faith and determination that carried me from having just 96 cents to my name to running Awsum Salon is what continues to drive me today… turning obstacles into opportunities and struggles into strength.
