Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Judy
Hi Gina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in a small midwestern town, I was raised by a loving family with strong Christian values. As I matured, I realized the importance of these values and how they would shape me into the person I would become. Despite the limitations of living in a small town, I desired a life beyond my humble beginnings. Like many girls of that time, my parents encouraged good manners, kindness, and doing your “very best” in everything. They also recognized an interest in beauty, fashion, and style which they encouraged me to develop. It was from these humble beginnings that my love of etiquette, fashion, and poise was rooted and grew. As I grew older, My passion and interest in learning more about elegance, style, and grace never faded. It was a way for me to express myself in a way that felt was my “very best”. Now whether I am in the comfort of my own home or attending high-profile events, I feel at ease in any setting. My knowledge and understanding of etiquette and style has not only helped me feel more confident, but it has opened doors and allowed me to navigate social situations with ease. I am constantly learning and evolving, but my foundation in these areas has given me a solid framework to build upon. I am a firm believer that the way we present ourselves to the world reflects who we are. I am proud to say that my interest in etiquette, style, and grace has not wavered over the years .It has allowed me to express myself in a way that feels authentic and true to who I am. It has become a part of my identity, and I am grateful for how it has positively impacted my life. My understanding of elegance has helped me become the best version of myself and I believe it can do the same for others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Writing this book about elegance has largely been a smooth journey for me, fueled by my deep passion for the topic. The process of putting my thoughts and ideas into words felt organic, as I believe that elegance is a fluid concept that can be redefined beyond conventional boundaries. My enthusiasm for sharing a modern perspective on elegance helped maintain a steady flow during the writing process, allowing me to articulate my vision with clarity and confidence. However, the biggest challenge arose from my desire to shift outdated perceptions and make elegance more inclusive for a wider audience.
One hurdle I encountered was the reaction some readers have to my book cover, which features me in a tailored blazer and shorts suit. While I see this as a fresh, contemporary representation of elegance, I recognize that some women may view it as less than elegant due to traditional expectations. This disconnect highlights the ongoing struggle to inspire a younger, broader audience while navigating preconceived notions. My goals is to show that elegance is not merely a checklist of dos and don’ts from generations past; it’s about self-expression and confidence, and that message is vital for today’s audience.
For instance, a young women who has chosen meaningful tattoos for her hands can still embody elegance, as true elegance extends beyond just a polished appearance. It encompasses qualities such as kindness, good manners, and the ability to make others feel comfortable. It is my hope that women of all ages are inspired to embrace their individuality while understanding that elegance is a holistic expression of who they are, rather than a narrow set of criteria dictated by societal norms.

I have a strong desire to inspire young women to embody a unique balance that blends modern style with timeless principles of elegance, such as kindness and good manners. By encouraging them to navigate contemporary fashion while embracing the enduring values of grace and respect, I hope to illustrate that true elegance transcends trends and is rooted in how we carry ourselves and treat others.
Writing a book about a topic as timeless and multifaceted as elegance is an undertaking that wouldn’t have been possible without the support and guidance of many individuals.
I am grateful to my mother as the book is a testament to her influence on my love of fashion and style. I am also grateful to Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Coco Chanel and Jackie Kennedy Onassis who provided inspiration and timeless contributions to the world of elegance.
Coco Chanel, for instance, boldly challenged the restrictive norms of her time, introducing styles that emphasized comfort, practicality, and a sense of individuality – elements that were revolutionary in a world dominated by corsets and formal attire. Her iconic pieces, like the tailored suit and the little black dress, not only liberated women from traditional dress codes but also empowered them to express their unique identities. Inspired by Chanel’s visionary approach, I strive to advocate for a more inclusive definition of elegance that champions personal style and authenticity, allowing women to embrace their individuality while feeling confident in their skin.
