Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess, Beth, and Jill.
Hi Jess, Beth, and Jill, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
We’re Beth, Jill, and Jess and we’re the team of 3 sisters-in-law behind Easy Budget Recipes! Combined we have over 50 years of cooking, meal planning, and budgeting experience. Both Jess and Beth grew up with fathers that are accountants, so budgeting and money smarts are literally in their blood!
We started Easy Budget Recipes as a way to help moms like we do 4 things: Make delicious recipes made from real ingredients. Meal plan with a budget in mind with little food waste. Provide tips on how to get kids involved with cooking. Get easy, budget-friendly healthy recipes on the table that won’t break the bank.
We share new recipes each week to help make cooking easy and fun!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We started our website just before the pandemic. With the pandemic, we were actually much busier than we anticipated, as suddenly, a lot of people were now at home and needed to cook. We had to adapt to the new way of life and create recipes with pantry items.
We changed our plans for our content and created recipes that were needed at the moment. We spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas and being creative with pantry items. It was an unexpected jumpstart to our website!
We’ve been impressed with Easy Budget Recipes, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Easy Budget Recipe’s goal is to create easy meals and crowd-pleasing recipes! Our hope is that you will find some recipes that will help tame the beast that is budgeting, as well as free up time to do things you love with the ones you love! Each of our recipes shares ideas for how to get kids, based on age range, involved in the kitchen.
We’re strong believers at Easy Budget Recipes that if you get your kids involved in making food, then they will be more likely to try the food that is served to them. This will eventually lead to them learning to like new foods! We also provide the estimated cost for the ingredients needed in each recipe, as well as the overall estimated cost of the recipe.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
We listen to Search News You Can Use to keep up to date on the current Google trends. We also enjoy listening to The Blogging Millionaire and Eat, Blog, Talk. Lastly, we are actively involved in several Facebook groups related to food websites to stay connected in this community and best practices.
