Today we’d like to introduce you to Esteban Santana.
Hi Esteban, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
California was born and raised with my family in the Printing Industry. From offset printing to digital printing. Grew up in Huntington Park. I graduated High school in 1995. Youngest of 13, and my brothers and parents gave me the best to become something in the future.
Keeping me off gangs and streets they invested in computer and graphic programs back in 1991 to help the family business. Powered with an Apple Macintosh Quadra 700 and a small Roland vinyl cutter, I made Party and Rave flyers with stickers back in those days. That kept me busy and extra cash. I worked in the Graphic Design field and went to Cerritos College for 2 years in Architecture but never finished.
Worked in some Ad agencies from 1996-1999 agency in Van Nuys CA where I expanded my talents by getting advice from top designers to make real money. Then from 1999-2007 worked at another company that screened print-on mirrors for promotional beer companies such as AB, Coors, Miller, and a bunch more.
I was the lead designer there with awesome people. Then I come to the desert, with all that experience and knowledge to work for wrap shops here and decided to open my own in 2012. So, with all my experience I offer screen-printed shirts and apparel along with vehicle wraps, decals, banners and stickers, and business cards all in a one-stop shop. Everything is printed in-house.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It wasn’t easy but with the help of my wife Mayra. She made it work a bit better, She’s my greater half that roots for me when I’m in doubt. Thank God I found her and also have the Lord by my side. Struggles are there you just have the right person and faith.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I see a bunch of my work on the streets here in Phoenix, from a 12-year running AZ-based podcast that I’m often mentioned “The Gary and Dino Show” to real estate and other small Latino-owned businesses that I work with.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I loved art, especially graffiti. I was a shy Goofball, who loved cars, fishing, and loved helping the family business. I have a handful of friends that blew up in the regional Spanish Music that I did hang out with and do business with them as well.
