Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryheem Charity.
Hi Bryheem, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My name is Bryheem Charity and I’m originally from Philadelphia, Pa. One of the reasons I moved to Phoenix, Az because I always envisioned myself waking up to warm weather and palm trees all year round. The main reason I moved to Phoenix, Az because I’ve noticed that Arizona is ranked 3rd worst in public education in the entire nation. I’ve founded a company 8 years ago called Science 2 The Max. Science 2 The Max is an educational enterprise that uses augmented reality, animation, storytelling, and interactive learning to teach and encourage science for young people ages 4 through 13. My goal is to change the paradigm on how young people view education. I want to create a culture where education is championed in the inner-city community. The problem is that America’s public and private schools have failed our youth in engaging them with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning. The lack of consistent exposure to STEM subjects will lead to stagnant growth of America’s Economy if nothing changes. Science 2 The Max is addressing the educational problem by providing equitable solutions around interactive learning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road? We are relatively new to the Phoenix market so the challenge has been getting our message out to locals in the Phoenix and surrounding area.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’ve started a business called Flavors 2 The Max. Flavors 2 The Max is a privately owned dessert shop located in Chandler, Az. Our address is 3029 N Alma School Rd, STE 121 A. We are known for our “Philly” famous Italian Ice and Pizza Nachos. We use Italian ice to create awareness around the need for quality education in schools while bringing people together. Flavors 2 The Max is a community focused business that provides funding and resources to educational institutions and grass-root organizations. We also have two Flavors 2 The Max’s Italian ice trucks that operates in Chandler, Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by how many people we impact. Science 2 The Max is much bigger than me. I’m all about legacy, therefore I truly believe Science 2 The Max will outlive me. Not only do Science 2 The Max provide amazing programming but we are changing lives.
