Meet Christina Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Nguyen.

Hi Christina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a licensed esthetician with a passion for beauty. Growing up, I’ve always wanted to be in the beauty industry, and now I am serving my passion as an ombré powder brows makeup artist at Imperfect Artistry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am still fairly new to the beauty industry; I have been a certified ombré powder brow artist for shy of eight months already, so of course I will always have room for improvement. To this day, I am still learning something new everyday to better my skills in the long run.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in ombré powder brow tattoos. This form of brow tattoo is semi-permanent. Ombré powder, which is different from micro-blading, uses a single needle to deposit thousands of tiny dots of pigment into the epidermis (outer layer) of your skin, resulting in a more controlled and blended pigment that will tailor to your desires. The final look ends up being powdery with a faded front and a sharp, crisp tail, resembling the look of makeup but still has a natural color to it once it fully heals. I love what I do because I get to apply my love for makeup onto someone else; your brows are my canvas! It makes me so proud when my clients express their love for my work.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
This pandemic has been a real eye-opener not only for me but for everyone else. Of course, our studio takes precautionary measures not only for our client’s safety but for our own as well. We disinfect all our appliances after our client, per usual, however we also ensure we disinfect our tools before our clients as well as a double measure of protection. I take mine and my clients’ health very seriously as well. If there is ever a case where my client or myself do not feel well, it is a requirement to not show up to the studio. Even if it may be something as simple as allergies, we take COVID very seriously and we’d rather be safe than sorry.
