Rising Stars: Meet Eric Winfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Winfield.

Hi Eric, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Born on the east coast moved to Phoenix in 2003 to rebuild my life after defeating the stronghold of addiction. Once I started to rebuild my life, I realized that I needed a hobby. I began to experiment with photography, found a mentor, and eventually started my photography business in 2007.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to tell my story, so I began to put on paper how I rebuilt my life after rising from rock bottom. I decided to title it LifeStruction. Today I speak on different platforms, I do my best to motivate and inspire others who are overcoming addiction, low self-esteem, depression, domestic abuse, and more. I also have a weekly podcast available on Spotify and iTunes Podcast, titled LifeStruction With Eric.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have ran into quite a bit of obstacles, but being stretched is a part of life. Great teachable moments. I ran into financial problems after losing a great job due to the 2008 crash. It was a very difficult time, but I stretched what I had one day at a time, and kept the faith through the process, believing better days were in reach.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I still do photography, but I am more in love with motivational speaking. I love pouring into people and in return watching them rebuild after experiencing a broken chapter in their life. I make myself available for free, and love when I have the honor to read success stories.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be going to the beach every summer. Anyone who knows me know that I love spending time with my family. Besides I always looked forward to getting the opportunity to take pictures with my uncles Minolta 35mm. This is when I first fell in love with photography.
