Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Mann.
Hi Tori, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born very prematurely weighing 1 pound 9 ounces and am very lucky to be alive today. I truly think just having the opportunity to help people through my creative ability has really transformed me to come to terms with that I’m here for a reason and am blessed to be a creative professional and to be able to share what I love with the world.
Growing up I used to draw all the time, I was an illustrator before I ever learned what graphic design was, then when I entered my freshman year of college I learned about graphic design and never looked back. It is my passion and I truly enjoy it every day. Now my unique style and skills have helped guide me to amazing collaborations with small companies and clients.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has its ups and downs but it has not been a smooth road, the biggest challenges I’ve faced are potential clients not knowing if they need creative services, they think the homemade logo they have is good enough even though it can be hurting their business in the long run by not having a professionally designed brand identity.
So I think overcoming that mindset of design not being important will be a big challenge to defeat and I am ready to help be the creative guide people are needing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for creating brand identity design, print design, and illustration that defies the ordinary. Whether clients are looking to create a new brand for their company or want to stand out to better capture their audience, I can help them achieve their vision through a collaborative and creative process.
The core values that set me apart from others in the industry, are respect, hard work, and kindness. I do my best to treat everyone the way I want to be treated and I think that makes a difference. My parents are very hard-working people and have instilled that in me at a young age, I try my best to treat everyone with kindness because you never know who’s having a bad day and could use it. My clients want to work with me because I reflect these values and work hard to provide them with the creative solutions they need.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that having a creative career is achievable if you are willing to put in the hard work and believe in yourself every day. If you have a burning passion and are able to turn it into a career you will feel so much more fulfilled and have a purpose and I am so thankful that I have been able to create this opportunity for myself.
