Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Nu Nguyen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For me, it was always trying to find my identity and independent as a women. I often ask myself, what am I her for? How can I serve? Is this just it or there is more?
For almost 20 years of working in the beautiful industry. I have been inspired by mentors and family/friend entrepreneurs running their own business. I have found something I am passionate about, this is teaching.
I am a student myself. I absolutely love learning, whether it’s a new beauty treatment or how to cook a new recipe. Learning is one of the best thing anyone can do for themself. Giving yourself an opportunity to be able to expand your skills and mind is golden.
This is why, Contour Brows Academy was established 2020. With a crazy, worldwide pandemic, we still manage to grow slowly and open our doors in 2021.
Here, at Contour Brows Academy, we offer permanent makeup services and hands on trainings. My goals is to teach and share all my knowledge about Permanent Makeup and other beauty services. The trainings were designed to be very simple, easy to understand with lots of hands on practice. Most importantly, a chance to work with live models.
This was my chance to give, and inspire young women to be independent.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As a mentor, the challenges changes as an each student learn differently. We created this trainings using 3-D examples, building hand muscle memory and much more.
As an entrepreneur, there are always were challenges on top of being as a PMU Artist. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and well time management. The benefits of a business rewarding but it is constant work. When someone ask me how many days I work a week. My answered remain the same each time, “I work 8 days a week”.
I am going to be honest, there were times I wanted to give up. And sometimes I did, took a little break. But I got up and did again but better!
As you know, we’re big fans of Contour Brows Studio, Gilbert & Academy Permanent Makeup. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We have 2 location in Arizona. The first location was established in 2019 in Gilbert. Our team of aesthetician specialize in lashes, lash lift, brows tint/lamination/skin treatments. The second location, we specialize in Permanent Make up services and I offer hands on Training.
The Contour Brows Beauty team customize each service to client’s needs. We believe in educating our clients about the treatments using only high quality products. We stand apart by being our unique true self and inspired from one another.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
At the age of I was 15, I manage and work at my parent’s convenience store while going to high school and cosmetology beauty school. Later, I worked and manage my siblings name shop for 7 years. I remembered praying to God, “Please help me find my true identity & independence”.
Little did I know, he had a plan for me. I am where I am today from the entrepreneur experiences. So, I would say there was a moment I felt it was bad luck but it turn out to be good luck!
