Hidden Gems: Meet Dr. Lotte Valentin of Center for Integrative Medicine and Divine Spiritual Essence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Lotte Valentin.

Dr. Valentin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into a healing profession began after I had a near-death out-of-body experience in the ER while hemorrhaging to death twelve days after my third child was born in 1992. I then experienced bone marrow suppression for the next six years, which led me to be anemic, having a compromised immune system as well as bruising easily due to a low platelet count.

As I struggled to heal, I had a second near-death out-of-body experience in 1994 where I was greeted by the most magnificent bright white light that was emanating unconditional love accompanied by an angelic choir! I immediately understood I was in the divine presence and that we come from this light, we carry this loving light inside of us and we return to this light upon the death of the physical body.

I also met two spirit guides who showed me a silvery glittery grid around the earth, which to me resembled a fishnet, as I had grown up rowing the boat for my grandmother as she laid fishnets in the ocean to catch fish for the family to eat. When she lifted the fishnets out of the water in the early morning sun, the water droplets on the fishnet would glitter in the morning sunlight. The spirit guides told me that everything on earth is connected to this grid, and everything on earth is connected to one another.

The very next day after my first Near-Death experience I became aware of my sister-in-law who had passed away 3 days earlier, hovering in the left corner of the ceiling in my hospital room. As I was an atheist before my near-death experiences and had no belief in the afterlife, angels, or any religious beliefs, these experiences completely altered my perception of life and how I exist within this earthly dimension and the universe.

For the next several years, I had visions of future events and became aware of the spirit world communicating telepathically with me. After twelve years of these experiences, I realized I had become clairvoyant, clairaudient, and clairsentient. After so many years of receiving messages about future accidents, relatives passing away, or being sick I could no longer deny the truth of what I was experiencing.

One afternoon in 2004, when I had finally regained my health, I decided to search the internet to see if I could find an online program that would allow me to obtain a degree or certificate for a holistic approach to health, as I had always been drawn to helping other people heal. I found a school for Naturopathic Medicine that sounded just like what I was interested in.

At this school, I would learn not just regular western medicine, but also acupuncture, homeopathy, botanical medicine, and nutrition along with regular pharmaceutical applications. I then realized it was a real medical school and my very rational and logical mind immediately told me that this was not a practical or good idea as I was already forty-six years old. I closed my computer and headed towards the kitchen and told myself I would have to start my search over again tomorrow.

As I stood up from my desk in the tiny living room in East Bay San Francisco where we lived at the time, I became aware of a spirit guide drawing close to me. After receiving messages for twelve years already, I had learned to pay attention to their guidance as their messages always proved to come true. The spirit guide communicated telepathically with me, as they had always done, and gave me the following four messages:

1. You have to become a naturopathic doctor.
2. You are to integrate East and West.
3. You will bring messages and healing to the people.
4. You will write two books—no, wait—three.

As the message was very clear, I knew I had to follow the guidance I had received and enrolled in the medical school pre-requisite classes within a week. As I didn’t have Biology or Chemistry classes from my undergraduate degree, as my major in the 1980s had been in Business and Management Information Systems, and I had worked as a programmer and systems analyst in my youth, I had to take Advanced Placement High School Biology first before I could take the Biology classes I needed.

Upon graduation from Naturopathic Medical School in 2016, I was then immediately guided by a friend who I had just met at a training seminar that I needed to study mediumship. She told me she was a medium and that my mother was communicating with her and she needed to get a message to me. It was very clear that she was in communication with my mother as she didn’t know anything about me, nor that I was born and raised in the country of Sweden, and was able to tell me things from my childhood that she would not have any way of knowing.

She told me my mother was adamant about me studying mediumship at Arthur Findlay College in England, a renowned school for spiritualism and psychic science. I told her that I had just taken my Medical Board exams and didn’t even know if I had passed the exams yet, nor did I have any money to spend on traveling abroad as I had just graduated from Medical School and was just about to start working. My mother was very persistent with her message and after I had been given the same message three times, I answered the woman that I would find a way to make it happen.

Six months later in the spring of 2017, I was attending my first week-long training in Mediumship at Arthur Findlay College in England, which opened the doors for me to receive messages from the spirit world for other people and not just myself. I then returned to England several times for week-long training within the next 2 years. On my first visit to Arthur Findlay College in the spring of 2017, I had a reading with one of my teachers who brought in my mother. She told me that my mother was telling her I was writing a book, which nobody knew about at the time.

She then proceeded to tell me that my mother was saying that I was to write two books, no wait three! This was the exact same message I received in my living room in 2004! I have since then received this exact same message 3 more times from professional mediums. As a result, I knew I had to get my book published and went back to the US to start writing on a daily basis after work.

In November of 2019, my book Med School after Menopause, The Journey of my Soul, an inspirational story about transformation, healing, and spirituality, was published. In August of 2021, my book won an award! It received 1st place in the category of Spiritual Leadership from Living Now Book Awards. This award recognizes truly world-changing books that contribute to positive global change.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were many struggles along this path. First, I had to heal from my bone marrow suppression and then pass all the medical school pre-requisite classes before I could even apply to medical school. Once I had fulfilled all the pre-requisite classes of Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Math, there was no guarantee I would even be accepted into Medical School. However, I trusted in my path and knew in my heart that somehow it was all going to work out.

After completing the pre-requisites in 2008 some of my children were still living at home and I returned to work as a sales representative in the Bio-Tech industry for cancer detection and after three years became the Sales Manager. I was accepted into Medical School at the age of fifty-four in 2012. My husband had been laid off and had not yet been hired by the company he was interviewing with, but he kept encouraging me to follow my path.

We rented out our house in California and moved to Phoenix Arizona where I would attend school. We had no income for the first four months as I began my studies in Medical School except for my student loans which only paid the rent. We had exhausted our savings and were living on credit cards those first few months. This period was of course extremely stressful as I questioned if I had lost my sanity to embark on this journey without being financially secure and also carry a heavy course load of 32 credits that were to be completed in 12 weeks.

That Christmas, as I was going through final exam week, which consisted of about 11 final exams within a week, my mother passed away in Sweden where I was raised. The agony of not being present with her, the financial stress, and the stress of knowing I had to pass my exams in order to continue on with the next quarter of studies were astronomical.

After being in school for four months, my husband secured a job, I traveled to Sweden for my mother’s funeral and I was now only dealing with the stress of attending Medical School. However, there were many more extremely stressful events during this journey which are told in my book, Med School after Menopause, The Journey of my Soul.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a result of my journey, I have now come to a point in my life where I realize I need to divide my time between working with people spiritually as a psychic medium, medical intuitive, ancestral healer, and working as physician. I have therefore established two organizations one for my clinic, Center for Integrative Medicine, www.DrLotte.com, and one for working spiritually, Divine Spiritual Essence, www.DivineSpiritualEssence.com.

At the Center for Integrative Medicine, my focus is on healing the patient and finding the true cause of their symptoms and illness. I specialize in integrative medicine utilizing my training in Botanical Medicine, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, and Pharmaceuticals. I have post-graduate education through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine in Bio-identical hormones. I treat menopause, perimenopause, endometriosis, PCOS, and other menstrual issues.

I also work with hormone replacement therapy for men and treat many other conditions such as Hashimoto’s or other Thyroid problems, Digestive issues, Anxiety, Depression, Heavy Metal and Environmental toxicity, and many other Chronic Conditions and Autoimmune Diseases.

At Divine Spiritual Essence, I work with clients spiritually providing many different types of sessions. As a Medical Intuitive we can focus on exploring intuitively what may be blocking a client to obtain optimal health. I work both intuitively and with my spirit guides to obtain information regarding a client’s health. The information I receive guides me to ask questions regarding their health issues based on my medical training.

As I’m also a physician, I’m often able to suggest what tests or questions to ask the primary care physician that may have been overlooked in order to guide them to receive the correct treatment. We often also end our session with a healing meditation. I’m also trained in Ancestral Healing, which relates to the patterns of behavior and experiences of our ancestors. The Actions, Reactions, and Interactions of our ancestors are passed down and repeated in the generations that follow until it is healed.

Once we can recognize why we are having certain experiences we can find the patterns that are causing them and the tools to heal them. We are connected to our ancestors through our DNA but also through time and space and the” invisible grid”. I integrate this formal training with my intuitive psychic and mediumistic skills as well as my Shamanic training to create healing for their issues.

I was honored to be invited as a speaker as well as offer a Master Class for The Shift Network Ancestral Healing Summit in January of 2022, to help many people create healing for themselves as well as their ancestors and those that may come after them.

I also offer sessions for psychic readings which can be very helpful when someone has come to a crossroads during their life path, as well as mediumship readings where we connect to a loved one in the spirit world to bring messages of hope and healing to the client.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
