Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyle Beck.
Hi Nyle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my professional coaching and training journey over 25 years ago as a Personal Fitness Trainer, Instructor, Nutrition Coach, and Adult Educator. I realized early on in my adult life that I had an unquenchable thirst for learning and personal and professional growth. So, I quickly jumped into these varied concurrent roles, coaching hundreds of clients, hiring and training hundreds of educators, and managing thousands of courses annually. I knew I was in the right career fields (wellness and learning), energized by the continued learning. As a result, I ultimately (and naturally) dedicated my career in lifelong learning and helping people empower themselves.
But a critical moment happened when I learned about the “Human Potential” movement from a wise, 80-something client who had dedicated much of his career to exploring this movement. He obsessively talked about it every time we worked together, and I LOVED it. These conversations expanded my understanding of humanity, how and why we think and behave, and what was possible. When he passed, I knew I had to continue the journey of exploring what was possible in myself and for others. And that’s just what I did.
I started to read and learn about Emotional Intelligence through the works of Daniel Goleman, Reuvon Bar-On and others, and this sparked a desire to lean in even more to understanding what makes us humans tick, what drives us, what holds us bac, and how we can “level up” throughout life.
I also decided to dig deeper into understanding the many ways people think, learn and process experiences and information by taking a Masters of Adult Education program. Upon completion, I began teaching a program on “best practices” in adult education, with a focus on creating growth-mindset learning environments, on the many ways people learn and the many ways to teach people. After rewriting part of the curriculum and weaving some basic emotional intelligence concepts into the advanced module of that course, I decided to get certified in Emotional Intelligence. That’s when everything changed.
After getting certified as an Emotional Intelligence Coach, I worked deeply and diligently on the concepts I learned. I “worked on myself” in ways I never had before, and I made some major breakthroughs in my self-perception, relationships, confidence levels, the types of choices I made, shifting out of limiting beliefs, and so much more. This “inner work” led to my pivot towards coaching clients seeking personal and professional development. And it all made SUCH a difference. It catalyzed perspective-shifting, life-path clarity, and me shifting into helping others “face themselves” and “step into their power.”
I started small with a few clients here and there, but in no time at all, I leaned into it. The culmination of my journey led me to form I Am My Best Coaching Inc. as a way to support others in living their best lives. Then, upon the shutdown in 2020, I dedicated much of my practice to pro-bono remote coaching for hundreds of people of all ages who were experiencing anxiety, loss, grief, domestic disharmony, workplace changes, and other life challenges.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work. I’ve been doing newsletters, podcasts, tweets, some Instagram & Facebook posting, teaching workshops on various subjects, including Emotional Intelligence, coaching, supporting, providing Reiki sessions, and developing and teaching custom workshops.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My path to where I am in my career wasn’t a smooth road. I had so many blind spots and challenges along the way and different life stages that halted my progress. Or so I thought…
Looking back, I realized my career path actually began the moment I graduated with my undergraduate degree. And despite a few job changes and many perceived obstacles, my career path (which I also call my soul mission) took a winding but necessary road that forced (or rather “allowed”) me to stop for a while at times and face lessons that I needed to face.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about I Am My Best Coaching Inc.?
I am a Life & Executive Coach, Educator, and Practitioner in Emotional Intelligence and Holistic Wellness. I use results-driven tools, systems, and practices that support and empower clients to be and do their best and expand what they thought was possible. Whether in an individual or group coaching session, workshop, or energy work session, I co-create action plans and accountability measures with clients to support them in achieving balance and harmony, and help them manifest the abundant, productive and joyful life they are meant to live.
I operate with the core belief that our emotional health is just as important as our physical health. How we feel emotionally impacts our physical health, cognitive function, short-term memory, quality of our relationships, and much more. By merging my background in traditional coaching with updated research in emotional intelligence and wellness practices, I work with clients to create synergy between the mind, emotions, body, and soul. With a newfound outlook and holistic health action plan, clients experience increased energy levels, improved confidence, enhanced communication skills, and mental clarity to problem-solve, resolve conflict more easily, and make better decisions.
My business is dedicated to:
– Increasing people’s awareness of their inner world (ie. self-awareness) and outer world (ie. awareness of the important nuances of their social & physical environments and personal & professional communities).
– Helping people release any limiting beliefs, limiting mindsets, and
– Supporting people in making choices and habits that promote growth, authenticity, and wellbeing.
No matter what a client’s goal is,
I Am My Best is committed to helping people optimize, step into and even surpass their current potential.
My services include:
Life or Executive coaching in one-to-one or group settings, Emotional Intelligence, Values and Leadership Assessments, Workshops on a variety of topics, including Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management, Growth Mindset, Cultivating Healthy Relationships, Emotional Intelligence & more, and Biofield Therapy & Reiki sessions – all in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space.
I work with clients to build healthy relationships; develop and apply a growth mindset in their daily choices; promote clarity & alignment in personal and professional pursuits and cultivate more energy and resilience. I champion each client to activate their awareness, shed limiting beliefs and habits, and heal.
I am honored and delighted that I have reached as many lovely people as I have in doing this work. I began sending out messages on Twitter anonymously and with no followers, in the Spring of 2019, where I finally found my voice and personal power in a new way and at a whole other level. And in doing so, I’d like to think i may have helped others find their voice and their personal power. I’m thrilled to be reaching over 60,000 followers on that platform and was blessed enough to be in a position to offer pro-bono online coaching to people from all over the world throughout the year 2020 as the world shut down. So many souls around the globe experienced so many challenges and unknowns.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
There’s so much to do in Phoenix and the surrounding areas! Although every city has its drawbacks and “areas for improvement”, it’s seriously tough to pinpoint a single thing I don’t like. If I had to pick one thing: it gets hot some days. But for me, that’s hardly a dislike! I love the sun, the abundance of nature, the many friendly and joyful people, and the fun city life.
