Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Gutierrez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My interest in photography began when, as a young boy I discovered Life magazine with its large format of black and white and color photos. Consequently, I began taking pictures in high school and was self-taught until I enrolled in classes at a community college and have been shooting photos ever since.
As my life experiences grew so did my interests and creativity. My photographic portfolio includes photo journalism, fashion, portraiture, and glamour and boudoir photography.
A few years ago I decided to pursue my love of photography as a business to bring joy to families and individuals who will cherish the lasting moments, beauty and uniqueness of their photos.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of the challenges I’ve encountered have been financial which is a result of another challenge that stems from marketing my business. Without a successful marketing strategy there’s a lack of steady clientele which creates a financial challenge in terms of company growth.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Joe G Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a professional photographer and I manage my business Joe G Photography. My company provides photography services in all types of photography which includes but not limited to creative portraiture, business portraiture, glamour photography, boudoir, fashion, editorial, family and event photography.
I’ve recently won a Jurors Choice Award for a creative portraiture image from The Alwun House in Phoenix, Az. a nonprofit, alternative/contemporary art gallery and legendary institution.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’ve lived in the Phoenix area for almost 40 years and I’ve seen the growth and the maturity of a dynamic city. Many positives have emerged throughout the years that include new entertainment venues, modern architecture, and strides in cultural diversity, art districts and mass transit such as the light rail.
Some of the rich history of Phoenix such as older neighborhoods and their dwellings have been replaced by new development. I favor keeping these neighborhoods in tact so Phoenix can enjoy and honor its past while celebrating its future.
