Daily Inspiration: Meet Alyssa Jurkota

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Jurkota.

Hi Alyssa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I was always introspective and creative, seeking various things to make me feel like I belonged when I always felt a little different than those around me. I gravitated towards learning more about many diverse spiritual paths and practices to find what felt aligned with my innate empathy and highly sensitive nature. Although I had known about tarot since I was young, I didn’t get my first tarot deck until I was a teenager. I have been learning and reading tarot ever since, also incorporating oracle decks and crystals into my practice as well. I started out reading for friends and family, and with the positive and encouraging feedback I got, I decided to expand my services to read for the public with Ephemera Tarot. The more people I connected with, the more I saw how much of an impact my intuitive messages had, and it finally felt like I had found my calling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth sailing, but I have never doubted that doing intuitive readings was meant to be part of my life. There’s an element of imposter syndrome involved that I think many people experience when they are first starting out at something. I was nervous about the feedback I would receive or the opinions people in my personal life would have of me. Many of my family members are religious and frown upon tarot and divination and other things I consider part of my spiritual practice. Those opinions didn’t help in me feeling outcast, but I stayed true to who I am and my goal to help others in the way I knew how and the way I was good at.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an intuitive reader and energy healing practitioner. I utilize my intuition, tarot cards, oracle cards, and other divinatory tools to conduct readings for people to help them gain clarity, insight, and guidance on their situations. I also offer crystal energy healing sessions to help others relax, rebalance, and realign. I craft energetically charged and intentionally designed crystal jewelry, and that’s particularly fun because it combines my knowledge of crystals with what I feel intuitively inclined to put together in a creative way. I think every reader and healer may have a foundation of similar practices, but what sets us each apart is our own unique voice and way of delivering the messages we receive. I pride myself on creating a safe space for people as there is no judgment on my end as a reader, and I approach each reading with openness and compassion.

What makes you happy?
I feel happiest when I am living in alignment with my most authentic self. I think that can be difficult for people to do when there are so many external voices offering their opinions and perspectives, but doing this work has allowed me to connect with my intuition and inner guidance in a way that has helped me gain clarity on what I truly feel outside of everyone else. I feel happy when I’m creating, or when I’m talking with people after a reading and seeing how I’ve helped them. I feel happy when I notice the Universe sending me messages through unconventional methods like a song on the radio or repeating numbers on a license plate. All these things feel like I’m connected to something greater than myself.
