Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Bradd.
Destiny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After moving to the Phoenix area to attend college and start a new chapter of my life in 2021, I quickly realized how difficult it was to make genuine friendships as an adult. Outside of school or work, there weren’t many opportunities to meet like-minded women in a way that felt natural and comfortable. I remember thinking, “If I’m struggling with this, there have to be so many other women who are too.”
That idea became Girl-tivities®.
I launched Girl-tivities in 2022 with a simple mission: to create fun, intentional experiences where women could meet new friends while trying new activities. What started as a handful of local events has grown into a thriving community that has connected thousands of women through more than 130 social events, workshops, and retreats across Arizona.
From golf clinics and outdoor adventures to sporting events, financial wellness workshops, creative experiences, and travel retreats, every event is designed to make it easier for women to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and form genuine friendships. Along the way, we’ve also partnered with dozens of local businesses and organizations, creating experiences that benefit both our members and the communities we serve.
Like most entrepreneurs, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. Building a business from the ground up has required resilience, creativity, and a willingness to adapt. But the most rewarding moments are hearing women share that they met their best friend at one of our events, found a supportive community after moving to Arizona, or finally felt like they had a place where they belonged.
Today, Girl-tivities has grown into one of Arizona’s largest women’s social communities, with a following of more than 20,000 women across our platforms while continuing to expand through signature events, memberships, retreats, and brand partnerships. At its core, the mission remains the same as it was on day one: helping women build authentic friendships and create meaningful connections through shared experiences.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most entrepreneurs, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I started Girl-tivities, I was doing everything myself—planning events, answering customer emails, creating social media content, building the website, managing partnerships, and showing up to host every event. There were many moments where I questioned whether I could keep up or whether the business would grow into what I envisioned.
One of the biggest challenges has been building something that didn’t really exist before. Creating a community isn’t as simple as selling a product—you have to earn people’s trust and consistently deliver experiences that make them want to come back and invite others. There were events that didn’t sell as many tickets as I’d hoped, ideas that didn’t work, and plenty of trial and error as I figured out what resonated most with our community.
As Girl-tivities has grown, my challenges have shifted. Instead of wondering if people would show up, I’m now focused on building the right team, creating sustainable systems, developing strategic brand partnerships, and growing the business without losing the sense of connection that made it special in the first place.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every obstacle because each one taught me something that made both me and the business stronger. Entrepreneurship has required resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear. Those lessons have been just as valuable as any milestone we’ve achieved.
As you know, we’re big fans of Girl-tivities®. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Girl-tivities® is a women’s social community that helps women build genuine friendships through thoughtfully curated events and experiences. Our mission is simple: make it easier for women to meet like-minded friends while trying something new.
We host a wide variety of experiences throughout the year, from signature social events and outdoor adventures to wellness workshops, sporting events, travel retreats, and educational experiences. Whether someone has lived in Arizona their whole life or just moved here, our goal is to create an environment where attending alone feels comfortable and leaving with new connections feels natural.
What sets Girl-tivities apart is that we’re intentional about creating connection—not just planning events. Every experience is designed to encourage conversation and community, helping women move beyond small talk and build authentic relationships. We’ve found that friendship doesn’t just happen because people are in the same room; it happens when experiences are intentionally designed to bring people together.
We’re also proud to partner with local businesses and national brands that align with our mission, creating memorable experiences while supporting the communities we serve. These partnerships allow us to introduce women to new businesses, products, and opportunities in a way that feels authentic and adds value for everyone involved.
What I’m most proud of isn’t the number of events we’ve hosted or how much we’ve grown—it’s the impact those experiences have had. Hearing stories from women who met their best friend, found a support system after moving to Arizona, started businesses together, or simply felt less alone reminds me why Girl-tivities exists.
At the end of the day, we’re not just an events company—we’re in the business of creating community. Every event, partnership, and new idea is guided by one question: “Will this help women build meaningful connections?” If the answer is yes, it’s something worth creating.
What does success mean to you?
Success has evolved for me over the years. Early on, I probably would have measured it by revenue, social media followers, or the number of events we hosted. While those metrics are important because they allow the business to grow, they aren’t what ultimately define success for me anymore.
Today, I define success as building something that creates a lasting, positive impact while living a life that feels aligned with my values. Every time I hear that two women met at a Girl-tivities event and are now best friends, roommates, business partners, or simply have someone they can call when they need support, I know we’re accomplishing something meaningful.
I also believe success is creating a business that can thrive beyond me. As a founder, I’m constantly working to build systems, develop a strong team, and create sustainable partnerships so that Girl-tivities can continue growing and serving women for years to come.
To me, success isn’t about reaching one final destination—it’s about continually growing, making a difference, and staying true to the mission that inspired me to start in the first place. If I can build a business that genuinely improves people’s lives while creating a career I love, that’s success.
