Hi Kimberly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My first real job was selling shoes. It was the best job for a 16 year old. I didn’t want minimum wage, I wanted to be able to make commissions. From an early age I wanted to be in charge of my destiny. It’s where I learned so many important sales lessons.
I always loved magazines, and after college, I started in advertising and publishing. That is where I fell in love with working with people to build businesses. I liked the psychology behind it. I was always curious why certain messages landed and others disappeared; why some brands made it with a silly product and why others failed.
When I left corporate America, I went straight into network marketing, where I learned online sales, personal development, and building something in any industry I knew nothing about. That chapter changed everything, not just professionally, but personally. It gave me the tools and the income to retire my husband from corporate America so he could build his own dream. Together we built a Spin gym, a nonprofit, and a summer camp that has been running for 15 years.
I have seen first hand what happens when you give people the right tools. They transform. I have seen people who start businesses doubting themselves, having to learn how to sell, how to lead, how to create income and freedom on their own terms and completely shift the trajectory of their lives. That became the thing I cared most about and while it may sound corny, it still does.
Along the way I started other businesses and co-authored a book and was a featured author in the International Best Selling book, Six Figure Chicks.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think there is such a thing for entrepreneurs. Not even a little, I don’t even know if there are smooth patches.
I’ve pivoted and reinvented more times than I can count. I’ve dealt with burnout, financial stress, failed businesses and self doubt. I have trusted the wrong partners and have been betrayed, which is all part of the process. Not fun, but it definitely gives you clarity.
I have always believed it’s better to regret something you did than something you didn’t. I’ve taken big swings and lost big. But I don’t know any other way to figure out what you actually want. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Curious, competitive, and probably a little stubborn and fearless. If someone dared me to do something, which they did, I always said yes.
I was lucky enough to travel a lot growing up, and that did something to me early. It gave me a real appreciation for people, for different cultures, for the fact that there’s more than one way to live a good life. That wanderlust never left.
I played soccer and tennis, and I loved both for different reasons. Team sports taught me something about showing up for other people. Individual competition taught me something about showing up for myself. I think both things are still relevant in how I work.
I genuinely hated studying, but I loved learning.
My family was and is the most important thing in my life.
