Meet Jamie Bohannon of Skin Salvation®

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Bohannon.

Hi Jamie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Skin Salvation was started by a stubborn Arizona girl with a stale corporate career, who had the radical belief that aesthetic medicine could be both science-driven and deeply personal.
After a childhood riddled with rashes & itchy skin (hello eczema!) I became a nurse in 2008 and a then Nurse Practitioner in 2012. I found my way into aesthetics by way of dermatology and immediately fell in love with the blend of medicine, artistry, psychology, and confidence-building. What started as a passion quickly turned into an obsession with helping people look like themselves, just a more rested, refreshed, and confident.

In 2020, while most people were learning how to bake sourdough, I opened the doors to Skin Salvation. Backed with years of experience, a healthy amount of caffeine, and what some might call unreasonable optimism in an already full market, I set out to create the kind of aesthetic practice I wished existed: no pressure, no judgment, no cookie cutter treatments. I built a practice founded on relationships, honest recommendations, education, and results that age gracefully.

Fast forward to today and Skin Salvation has grown into an award winning boutique aesthetic practice in Scottsdale, helping thousands of patients navigate everything from Botox and fillers to skin rejuvenation, weight loss, hormone optimization, and collagen banking. Through every trend, fad, and viral skincare myth, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to evidence-based care and treating patients like family.

The mission has never been to help people chase perfection. It’s to help them feel at home in their own skin and have a little fun along the way. Confidence looks good on everyone.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Skin Salvation has faced its share of challenges since opening in 2020, prior to the pandemic. Early on, we experienced the unexpected loss of a location after a landlord failed to uphold a noncompete agreement which forced us into a time crunch for finding a new space. Shortly after leasing a new space—twice the size and full of potential—I found out I was pregnant with my second child. While I was ecstatic for both, I will admit that balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and a growing business isn’t always easy. But every obstacle strengthened commitment to our patients and our mission: to provide a no pressure safe space for people to get a confidence boost.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Skin Salvation®?
Skin Salvation® is a boutique medical aesthetics & wellness practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, founded by board certified Family Nurse Practitioner Jamie Bohannon. Since opening our mission has been simple: provide honest, evidence-based aesthetic treatments that help patients look refreshed, feel confident, and aging on their own terms.
We specialize in natural looking injectable treatments, collagen stimulating procedures, skin rejuvenation, and medical weight loss. Our most sought after services include Botox and other neuromodulators, dermal fillers, Sculptra, Radiesse, microneedling, RF microneedling, and customized skin health treatments designed to improve long-term skin quality.
What sets Skin Salvation apart is our approach. We believe aesthetic medicine should never be about chasing trends, overfilling faces, or creating a one-size-fits-all look. We focus on preserving each patient’s unique features while helping them look like the best version of themselves. Education, transparency, and patient safety are at the center of every recommendation we make. We take the time to understand our patients’ goals, discuss realistic expectations, and create personalized treatment plans that fit both their needs and their budget.
As a small business, we’re proud of the relationships we’ve built with our patients. Many have trusted us with their care for years and have become part of the Skin Salvation family. We’re also proud to be a nationally trademarked brand that has grown primarily through word of mouth referrals and patient loyalty, a reflection of the trust we’ve earned within our community.
More than anything, we want readers to know that Skin Salvation is a place where patients can expect expert care without pressure, judgment, or unnecessary upselling. Whether someone is interested in preventive treatments, collagen banking, addressing signs of aging, or simply learning how to better care for their skin, our goal is to provide guidance that is honest, personalized, and rooted in science.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years “collagen banking” will become as commonplace as sunscreen and exercise with more women investing in treatments that preserve skin quality, stimulate natural collagen production, and support healthy aging long before significant signs of aging appear. Botox and filler still have their role but people are leaning into regenerative modalities for a softer appearance.

Hormone optimization will continue to transform the way women approach health during pre-, peri-, and menopause. Although a lot of funding on women’s health has stopped, women are increasingly seeking comprehensive care that supports energy, cognition, body composition, sexual wellness, and quality of life.

We also have seen a growing anti-science movement online, including misinformation surrounding sunscreen, skin cancer prevention, and evidence-based skincare. While social media trends may influence behavior in the short term, the realities of UV damage and skin cancer remain unchanged. As more individuals experience the consequences of chronic sun exposure firsthand, public perception is likely to shift back toward prevention and trust in established scientific evidence.

Skin Salvation is proud to be at the intersection of these movements. Our vision is to help women look, feel, and function at their best through results driven treatments, collagen-stimulating procedures, hormone optimization, and preventive wellness strategies. The future isn’t about chasing youth, it’s about preserving vitality, confidence, skin health, and well-being for decades to come.
