Hi Matthew, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Matthew Goldstein, and I’m a certified Reiki Master Teacher. Like many healers, my path didn’t start with a calm meditation; it started with a crisis.
After a major knee surgery left me out of work for six months, I was forced into a stillness I wasn’t used to. Without the daily grind to distract me, all the trauma and emotions I had “stuffed down” for years began to rise to the surface. I tried traditional talk therapies, but I felt like I was hitting a wall—the relief just wasn’t there.
That’s when I found Reiki. At first, I was skeptical. But after a few sessions, something shifted. The energetic blocks I’d carried for a lifetime finally started to move, allowing me to confront and release what was holding me back.
Today, my mission is to provide that same opportunity for you. I help people move through the “stuck” places and clear the emotional weight that keeps them from becoming the best version of themselves. Whether you’ve tried everything else or are just beginning your journey, I’m here to help you heal from the inside out.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The most profound challenge on my Reiki journey was the realization that I couldn’t skip my own healing to help others with theirs. I entered this path thinking I was simply learning a skill to share, but I quickly hit a ‘healing crisis’ of my own. I had to face the ‘Healer, Heal Thyself’ phase—an intense period of inner housecleaning where I had to confront my own shadows, old emotional patterns, and energetic blockages.
It was a humbling process of ‘unbecoming’ who I thought I was to become a truly clear channel for the energy. This taught me that I can only hold space for a client as deeply as I’ve been willing to go within myself. Today, that challenge is my greatest strength; it allows me to show up for others with a level of empathy and integrity that can only be earned through personal transformation.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Emotional Frequency Realignment. I am known for my ability to help clients identify and release ‘ancestral’ or stored emotional baggage that they’ve carried for years. My clients often describe my sessions as a ‘deep exhale for the soul.’ I’m known for my intuitive ‘heat’ and for being able to pinpoint exactly where a person is holding onto a story that no longer serves them
What sets me apart is my no-nonsense approach to energy. I’ve stripped away the fluff to focus on Reiki as a practical tool for modern life. I’m known for my ‘intuitive precision’—the ability to identify exactly where stress is physically manifesting and helping the client understand the emotional story behind it. People come to me when they don’t just want to feel relaxed; they want to feel realigned and ready to take on their world with fresh clarity.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I really love how developed it had become since I arrived from New York in May of 2024. There is plenty of things to do here and the people are very kind. The thing that I like least is the amount of traffic that occurs on the way to work on the morning even with all of the lanes on the interstate highway.
