Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenny Perez.
Hi Kenny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A lifelong pursuit of martial arts. Firstly as a young boy inspired by kung fu movie craze to a competitive sport to a performing art form then came the professional career including security and movie stunt work. After compounding injuries I recognized the important value as an internal health maintenance and therapeutic exercise. Now my occupation now is also treating and helping clients understand and incorporate Tai Chi and Qigong into their daily routines to enhance their health and help therapeutically with any issues of their bodies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had to find good instruction and peel away the mystical side of Tai Chi and Qigong. I found myself having to reeducate the people whom I come in contact with. Giving them a. Clearer understanding of Tai Chi as it is interpreted thru western science and medicine. As compared to the eastern interpretation .
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Fitness and wellness programs based on Tai Chi and Qigong also I host Kungfu self defense classes. And women’s self defense classes. I uses my experience to als educate students in schools around the valley introducing them to Chinese culture.
What are your plans for the future?
I hope to help Tai Chi be more accessible to all.
