Hidden Gems: Meet Lindsay Miller of Tru Balance Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Miller.

Hi Lindsay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey about 10 years ago. I had just become a mom at 21 and was working in corporate America. I had known I wanted to become a massage therapist but didn’t want to be in debt. My sister at the time was working at the community college and had informed me the college had a massage program. I went to the orientation and the rest is history. When I was going to massage therapy school is when I learned about acupuncture. Once I was finished with massage school, I immediately enrolled into acupuncture school. My goal was to combine both acupuncture and massage therapy together since I focus mainly on pain management and injuries.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not always! As mentioned before, I had become a mom at 21 and I am so fortunate my husband (my boyfriend at the time) had been so supportive in my journey with school, helping with our son, and working a full time and part time job. Along the way, we got married and I had gotten pregnant with our second child within my first year of acupuncture school. After my second child was born, I took a semester off of Acupuncture school and when I went back, I decided to go all in and become a full time student while working 2 jobs, and raising two babies.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tru Balance Wellness?
Tru Balance Wellness came to life in 2021. I had worked for a chiropractor as a massage therapist for 4.5 years and knew it was time to branch on my own and create my own business. I started off only offering massage therapy and once I became licensed in Acupuncture, I combined the two together within the treatment. I specialize in pain management and recovery. What sets me apart from other practitioners is not only my 10 years of being a massage therapist but becoming an acupuncturist. Acupuncture school is about 4-5 years and end with a Master’s degree. I’m consistently taking advanced continuing education to further my knowledge and skills.
I’m most proud of the business I have created and continue to create. Being a mom to two kids, a wife, and a business owner is hard but I strive to be my best and do my best in all aspects of my life.
Tru Balance Wellness offers treatments based on the patient’s need. Every treatment is tailored to the patient and not one treatment is the same. I look for the root cause looking at the physical, mental, and emotional state of the patient and treat accordingly. I am no longer a massage therapist and focus only on acupuncture. I offer acupuncture, acupuncture injection therapy, prp microneedling, prp injection, vitamin injections, cupping, scrapping, and so much more.

What does success mean to you?
My definition of success is living a life where I have the freedom to design my own schedule, one that allows me to do meaningful work while being fully present for my family. It’s the ability to grow in my career, take my kids to their activities, support my husband, and still create time to nurture myself and others.
