Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Berry.
Hi Melissa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Melissa Berry, and I’m the founder and lead designer at Melissa Berry Interiors. Along with being an interior designer, I’m also a wife, mom, animal enthusiast, and passionate life-long learner. I approach every project with the goal of enhancing my clients’ daily lives through thoughtful, personalized design.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Certification in Interior Design from The Interior Design Institute. My background in education sharpened my communication skills, especially in regards to conveying new information to others. My design training gave me the tools and creative foundation to craft interiors that are functional, beautiful, and unique to each individual client.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As an entrepreneur and small business owner, I have struggled with marketing my services effectively. I’ve learned that attracting clients is not as simple as designing a website and creating content for social media accounts. It’s about truly understanding how to connect with people in a meaningful way. And, just as importantly, having the resilience to pivot and try something new on a daily basis.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Melissa Berry Interiors LLC?
My work is centered around my unique clients. My goal is to design spaces that reflect each client’s personality, lifestyle, and taste so perfectly that home becomes their favorite place to be. I collaborate with homeowners—and their families, however they’re defined—to refresh or reimagine their spaces… creating beautiful, customized homes that serve them and become a place where lasting memories are made.
I offer a range of services to meet clients at different investment levels—from one-time consultations and paint selections to full-service decorating and complete renovation design.
What sets me apart is my commitment to getting every detail just right. I don’t stop at “good enough”—I aim for that moment when a client’s face lights up or they audibly react to the transformation. And just as important, I make sure the design works in real life. Every element is thoughtfully chosen to hold up beautifully in everyday use—not just for the reveal. My sweet spot is that perfect balance between form and function, tailored to each individual client.
What are your plans for the future?
I’d be thrilled to extend my design services to homeowners outside the Scottsdale, Arizona area. Historic homes—particularly Victorian, Craftsman, Colonial, and Cape Cod styles—hold a special place in my heart. Taking on an out-of-state project in a charming, historic neighborhood would be an amazing next step in my career.
