Hi Cindy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Joliet Aesthetics is a family-owned and operated medspa founded on a passion for beauty, wellness, and family. After more than three decades in Minnesota, my husband, Dr. Greg Bichler, and I relocated to Arizona in December 2023, following the successful sale of our dental practice of 32 years.
Throughout his career, Dr. Greg, built a thriving dental practice where he also integrated advanced aesthetic treatments. My own background is rooted in the beauty industry, where I worked for many years as a beauty advisor before dedicating time to raising our children. With our family grown, I was excited to return to the industry I love, bringing with me a deep commitment of quality, excellence, and compassionate care.
Our daughter, Mykenzie, has been an aesthetician for 15 years and is now an advanced Certified Laser Technician (CLT). Known for her exceptional skill, caring approach, and dedication to her clients, Mykenzie brings both expertise and heart to every treatment she performs. Over time, all three of our children-Mykenzie and our twin sons, Cameron and Carter, made Arizona their home, starting families of their own.
After spending time in Arizona as snowbirds, Greg and I made the decision to settle here permanently to be closer to our children and grandchild. From this new beginning, Joliet Aesthetics was born, blending our decades of experience, a shared love of aesthetics, and a deep commitment to personalized, family-centered care.
We are proud to have created a team that feels like an extension of our family. Our daughter-in-law, Karissa, has joined Joliet Aesthetics as our Front Desk Liaison, Social Media Coordinator and Office Manager. With her years of administrative experience and natural ability to connect with people, Karissa has been an incredible asset to our practice, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every client.
We are also honored to work alongside our talented and friendly nurses, Carly Aldag, NP, and Rebecca Wilson, RN, whose skill, passion, and dedication help us deliver the highest level of care to every client. At Joliet Aesthetics we hope each and every client feels like family.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been filled with both unexpected challenges and incredible growth. Years ago, while volunteering in Honduras, my husband suffered a life-changing accident that resulted in a broken neck. After multiple surgeries and a long recovery, we made the difficult decision to sell our dental practice of 32 years and start a new chapter.
Opening Joliet Aesthetics was a leap of faith. Although we had spent a few winters in Arizona, truly planting roots here was a brand-new experience. We faced the emotional and professional challenge of starting over-making new friends, building trust, and introducing ourselves to a community that didn’t know us yet.
The journey hasn’t been easy. It has taken months of dedication-I first joined the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, where I was fortunate to be accepted into their leadership group and have made genuine, lasting connections. Myself and my team have spent countless hours of networking, event planning, joining community groups and simply showing up with authenticity and heart. Slowly but surely, people began to learn who we are, what we stand for, and why we care so deeply about the work we do. Every new client who walks through our doors feels like a reminder that perseverance, faith, and hard work do lead to something truly special.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
It’s hard to choose just one because I have so many wonderful memories. One of my favorites would have to be the countless hours spent playing outdoors with all the neighborhood kids. I grew up in a rural community, where we built tree forts, rode motorcycles and snowmobiles, and played endless games of hide and seek. Those days were filled with pure joy and a sense of freedom- a time when we didn’t have a care in the world.
